Hey David, you mentioned side grip and you were lifting your shirt a bit to get like skin to pole contact, is that to get more friction and not rely solely on grip strength?

Absolutely! For the most part, on a regular pole, you'll only grip where you have skin contact, so strategic clothing positioning can be necessary to improve contact and spread your weight over multiple areas. (Hence the usual approach of tiny shorts)
