Since I posted the list of objectives for the invasion of Commorragh on alternate history, I figured I might as well post the amended list here with a detailed count of what Taylor and her forces were successful and what they failed to do.

Why these objectives were ordered (especially the lesser ones), however, will need to wait a certain POV in the Interludes...

Ok... so some Artifacts that I know nothing about were preserved by someone... which is somewhat strange, as they seems related to Excess (both by name and location) so in the end does it even matter? And I'm surprised so few Sslyth were captured: first spider's web should have helped, and second in 8.4, Gabriela Gordan's PoV seemed to imply Sslyth were send by thousands to fight and die as cannon fodder along with other xenos... Eiter way, Taylor is an overachiver.

Nice I say the get an A+

Wait, I just realised something: "Asdrubael clicked his tongue at the lack of civility and courtesy before glancing at the hourglass of crystal surrounded by empty bottles." - is this the 'Hourglass of Sand Screams '? And was it somehow counting time left before there is no more Commorragh? And if it was, did it survive everything?

Antony444

Some things still have power no matter how dead Slaanesh is...and some aren't related about Slaanesh at all. As for the Sslyth, don't forget we're speaking about beings playing bodyguard to the most sadistic species of the galaxy. They have a lot of suicide devices to avoid being dissected by the monsters...

I am putting my money on the black library having the book. Was the screaming sands used to slow the daemon hordes by the clowns?

Confused

We failed some of the objectives but overall we did amazing! The fact we didn't lose 90 percent of our forces in the process makes this win all the better.

It looks like she will return with more people than she left with if she is taking with here the former slaves back to Nyx. And it will probably be a allot of headeck finding where to put them all. Granted, Pavia is probably going to be able to sustain life when the dust settle.

Does anyone know what the two artifacts that weren't destroyed do? Particularly the Hourglass of Sand Screams.

Antony444

No, you don't. They have yet to be shown...but at least one will appear in one of the Interludes.

I wonder if the emperor himself expected the Commoragh campaign to be this successful or if some of these objectives were of the 'they are there so they might as well try' kind

Antony444

The main objective was to kill Slaanesh, or at least to critically weaken it so much the other Gods would all jump on the bandwagon and make sure it remained a second-rate parasite. As long as this was accomplished and Commorragh burned, the Emperor was fine accepting some objectives might be left incomplete.

I must question if Pef is a patreon subscriber.

Hey Anthony, how are the next chapters coming along for whichever story is now in line to get an update?

Antony444

I have finished working on The Odds were never in my favour yesterday. I'm likely going to begin working on Let the Galaxy Burn tomorrow, though the betas should not be long in sending be back 8-5 and once they do, it of course takes priority. And then once everything is done, it will be time to begin working on a serious Interlude...

in the end what was the use of the spirit stones which were recovered by the harlequins ?

Antony444

There were several reasons. First, every stone which was recovered doesn't empower Slaanesh, which given the critical moment, was really good for everyone not affiliated to Chaos. There might other explained in the Interludes...
