Well, Alexandra is screwed up. I think the queen gave her an impossible requirements if she wanted her for apprentice.

Everyone is screwed up. Notice here how Alexandra is underestimating her own skills; thanks to being an Hydra Animagus (and learning to use the speed, strength and endurance going with it) plus formidable war spells, if it's a contest of strength, she is far less likely to die in a trial than many, many Champions. Sure, she may not win (though she isn't sure to even want to be Morgan's apprentice) but her odds of getting alive out of the bloodbath are higher than every Hogwarts student and a large majority of foreign opponents...
