The writing part is over, the chapter has been sent to the betas, let's hope I've not made too many mistakes this time...

This chapter ends 28000 words-long. With how massive the next two Inderludes promise to be...well, let's say it's just the beginning of the galactic ripples.

I'm going to take one day or two of rest, then I will begin another Harry Potter chapter and after that, Let the Galaxy Burn, before all the interludes.

Okay, announcements are over, the Battle of Commorragh must end, and the galaxy will burn...

There are no words to describe how good this was. Your writing skill is INCREDIBLE

DrkShdow

Wow just wow

Boris Michenski

And so... the Evil created by a mad Empire was destroyed along with last remain of said Empire. And Slaanesh never made it to Port, QoB has kept her busy. Cegorath... well done. So does that mean that there is little sister of last Aeldari emperor (there on one Emperor whose name I'll write starting with majusciule) alive and under Fool's care? How did she survived Slaanesh possesion and all the wounds received at this time? And does it means that there is start of shipping between Tziz and Dennis? With Pierre as a shipper, thay have no choice... And rest in peace Constantine Valdor, you did accomplish your duty.

Boris Michenski

And as promised: the epic awesomness of greatness did reach the Moon, where it did recieved a new push from this overwhelming and breahtaking grand finale and now is on fast course toward the Final Frontier!

Kevin Choi

I don't think I've read a fanfiction where the author did what you just did.

Holy shit

Forgottenone

Amazing story and epic legend was born thanks to you!

Antony444

This is the niece of Malekith, granddaughter of Morathi, not his sister. Slaanesh maintained her in a vegetative state, locked in her mind since she was born. And yes, you can start the shipping...

Antony444

Never let it be said I don't hold to my promises (grin). Now of course I will have to imagine something more epic for the next battle...

Anonymous

That was great, really looking forward to reading all about the fallout.

Anonymous

Leets future looks set to be one for the history books. very well done. loving it so far keep up the great work

Anonymous

Will we be seeing any more of the unfortunate ex-Avatar of Slaanesh? What with her being taken in by Cegorach and Aeneria? Also, was she affected by her possession, short as it was? Also, can I ask again if the Mark left on the souls of Eldar is going to react in any way to Taylor's proximity, seeing as how it was mentioned that it was going to keep on burning as long as Taylor is alive?

Brett Tamahori

I'll do a longer review soon, because it's me. But for the moment I'm just glad they are doing the treaty on A4, and not US Letter (may it be taken by chaos for all time).

Guilherme Bezerra

Eldrad's reaction at the end kinds of say it all. Excellent conclusion and let's await for the interlude. Will the dawnguard gain new chapters/representatives ? Will Taylor ears survive the experience?

Anonymous

Some outstanding creativity displayed in this chapter, and all while keeping with the 'grim-darkness' of the 40k universe, very well done! I am interested to see how you will have something like the Emporer interact with humanity and perhaps Taylor also. Ave Imperator!

Boris Michenski

I think Taylor now have a way to totally defeat Nove Terra: have Leet record Borek's song and make enemy listen it for some minutes, then give them the ultimatum: "surrender or Leet and Dragon would hack all of your communication equipement and make you listen it non stop". They only ennemy who may able to resist such tactics would be orks... They would probably challenge Borek to the musical battle... before real battle.

Anonymous

thx for the beautiful words bye bye cannon you will not be missed will be fun reading about the ripples feel sorry for those messengers who have to report this they are going to be dragged of as traitors with the useless lords not wanting to believe some one did all this in so sort a time

Antony444

Oh yes. How do 'the Legend of Borek and Leet, Eldarslayers, Demonslayers and Skavenslayers' sounds?

Antony444

Yes, the ex-Avatar will be seen again. She was affected by the possession of course, but being impaled by weapons in an environment bathed in Anathema light tends to have purifying and unforeseen consequences.

Nikola Nikitin

Best birthday present ever

Antony444

Oh yes the Dawnbreaker Guard is going to get enlarged...second Interlude, I believe. As for whether Taylor's ears will survive...it is very much into question.

Dale

I'm seriously enjoying this chapter, and I'm happy I got to see what I'd hoped for: an end to Slaanesh. There's been so much done, and changed I can't possibly note everything here now. Seeing how Excess was the number '6' as a 'holy' number, and had Six Aspects, I now want to know what Aspects the OTHER 'Gods' have? I hope you might have some thoughts on that of wonderous Storyteller!!!!!!

Anonymous

God damn it this is why I can’t go go to sleep at normal times all of my favorite stories always update at 3 or 4 am. This chapter was amazing gotta say and I can’t wait to see everybody’s reactions. And the Mechanicus got their 12th stc, just not how we thought they would....think they might give her a second vote because I would find it hilarious for Taylor to have more votes in Mars parliament than the emperor.

Anonymous

You little s... no no I need to be polite. I don’t think people have realised yet how significant the last POV is, if allowing the Emperor to take the reigns of the Imperium, even if it’s just partially, is not the biggest effect to the Mark I don’t what is (apart Slannesh going bye bye). Please, please call either the next Arc or one of the Chapters “Galactic Fallout” as realistically nothing else really describes the effect the Mark is going to have.

Anonymous

cool stuff!!!! I hope the next interlude will include warpstone tech skaven kicking word bearer ass????

Confused

From start to finish I was on the edge of my seat well done as always!

Anonymous

The scene in which Slanesh sacrificed is in my opinion a rather ingenious way to show all those people who were harping about Lucious what your feelings were about that

Anonymous

So you decided to use a literal Deus ex Machina to clean up the atmosphere of Pavia :D Loved this chapter, I must have had at least half a dozen moments of maniacal laughter reading it.

Antony444

I did not see it that way now when I wrote it, but now that you mention it...

Antony444

There will be Skavens in the next interlude, but the war proper won't begin until the second. First they have to recruit...

Antony444

Yes, at the point it's going, even the Fabricator-General is beginning to count the votes (grin)...

Antony444

I was going for 'Delenda Est Commorragh' for the first, but your suggestion has a lot of merit...

Anonymous

You end some the most spectacular cliffhangers i have ever seen spectacularly. And then you have to give me cliff hanger where i wonder what Sophia will do faced with Big E. WHHHYYYY!!!!!!😁

Mackenzie Buckle

wow, my guess was right, wasn't expecting the avatar thou.

Mackenzie Buckle

I'm looking forward to the announcement of this victory.

primus

I’m glad that Cegorach seems to be making it out. He was really important for defeating Slaanesh, and it’s nice that he didn’t get subsumed by chaos for that. Also I seem to be woobifying an Eldar god, so there’s that.

Antony444

I was not intending it to be that much of a cliffhanger, honestly. Let's call it err..;anticipation for the next chapter.

Anonymous

Oh shit. The mechanics just "volunteer" Leet to became the 40k Feliex. God what a good chapter. The golden age is back.

Antony444

Oh Cegorach wouldn't have been subsumed if he had failed, he would have just been very, very dead. Though that's not much of a consolation, I know. Of course, he will have to decide a new course of action now that the deity he spent thousands of years defying is no more.

Confused

And hey at least we no longer have to deal with leet that's a big win right there!

Anonymous

Is there a bounty for Slaanesh? I figure that Taylor, through the use of Mothra/Lisa, would have the most reasonable claim to this. It would be stupid fun to see the over the top reward a Chaos God would garner. I am a little miffed that Sophia Hess will get to meet the EOM before Taylor... seem unfair. Great arc, looking forward to more.

primus

Which seems wasteful, tbh. Whatever he ends up doing probably will be an even less productive use of the talents he has, even if he can be hard to deal with at times.

primus

I doubt it. Slaanesh's existence was super super secret, after all. That being said, a second Star of Terra seems to be in order, even if the High Lords aren't ready to deal with a living recipient of the Order of Ollanius Pius quite yet. I do wonder if she would get another three ranks worth of automatic promotions, and if the badge gets differenced for second and successive awards.

Forgottenone

Well now I wonder how the materium going to collect everything it is owed. Slaanesh death might mean many cases of domino effect going to play with all the paradoxes Slaanesh was lying around with. Plus She demon damaged the past with a massive IOU from the future. Wonder will some of the six concepts of Slaanesh be totally unraveled by the materium? I cannot wait to see galaxy fallout from these events. I will also bet that the necrons gift STC template is just necron health care tech from when they had bodies. MR. T gave away to many spacemarines.

Lord McDeath

Awesome chapter. I am wondering how much this is being to bugger the past for chaos, as they have been playing fast and lose with time. Also wonder if the surviving eldar get more of their power back or if any of their gods manage to chest burst out of those aspects.

Anonymous

The Holy Shit levels of this chapter were truly absurd. And I loved every second of it. That said, the wait to see everyone's reactions is going to kill me. Because in true Worm fashion, the event was epic but the PHO-esque reactions to it are what truly make it all worthwhile.

Antony444

Yep, when you're playing with paradoxes, you're playing with nuclear fire...

Vortiboy27

What does Tziz look like without the callidus setup? Red haired and white or something else without her callidus equipment and drugs?

Antony444

Under her current appearance (that she has chosen after injecting herself polymorphine) Tziz is a woman on par with Taylor in size, with long black hair and piercing yellow eyes. She has also the muscles of her Callidus training, and a light armour (heavier than the assassin attire, but far lighter and cumbersome than the average Guard trooper in carapace). But no, she has not the equipment (Taylor confiscated it and most of it went directly to Dragon) nor the drugs (that went to the Biologis department).

Rufio18

This is sooo freaking awesome. So many ripple effects. The emps will actually be able to guide the imperium now that he is not dealing with a chaos seige on Terra and possibilities of two Primarchs returning. I guess Goge Vandire and the "Reign of Blood" and the "Age of Apostasy" have been culled out. The inquisition is probably going to go nuts when they see Billions/Trillions of cultists are dead and they are going to be busy wiping the slate on them for a long time. I am sooo looking forward to the interludes. This almost feels like the PHO after action moment when the epicness really hits the fan. I wonder if Taylor gets a new sector. You just gave the Salamanders enough numbers to form a new chapter, the imperium got 17K uncorrupted gene seed not tied to chaos and Taylor has Primarch blood to create a chapter with out genetic degradations. Somehow, I see battleship and battle barge plans being transferred to Nyx to create all the new space marine equipment. And she just happens to have a bunch of planets that can be purified with aethergold and used as well as tech creating aliens in her pocket. I hope you put a vista and dragon "I told you so" moment in there.

Benjamin Mages

Nah, Goge Vandire and the "Reign of Blood" are still going to happen, though I would be shocked if it ended the same way. We have a line in one of the chapter beginnings that references it.

Regan

They actually did it... wow

Vortiboy27

Gotta ask: What will she do now after she replenishes her forces, trains up new ones and rests properly? Will she go after Biel Tan first, Terrathens for the STC or get hijacked by the Custodes to visit the Emperor? And speaking of, how much more direct will the Emperor be in ruling the Imperium? He may not take it over completely, but a hands off approach is what led to powermongers like Vandire rise to power and mismanage the Imperium badly.

Antony444

You don't want much, do you? (grin) There will be an answer for Biel-Tan in the next interludes, the rest will be revealed in due time...I don't want to spoil too much too fast.

Anonymous

Now that Sla'anesh is destroyed, what happens to the Eldar in general? Like I mean, since their soul are in no danger of being consumed by Sla'anesh. Does this means the Eldar are free or can the other 3 chaos gods also feed on their souls like Slaanesh now that she-who-thirst is gone??

Anonymous

Jsut after the remanent of 30 astartes kill team managed to teleport out of Maleficarum Aeternum, it's given that a battleship "Lord of stars" was self destroyed to prevent the Arch-Enemy from using it against imperial Fleet. Where did this battleship come from?? Its not part of operation Caribbean or part of Belisarius cawl or part of the "fast battleships" of von kosher. This is a head scratcher for me..

Anonymous

Thats an egg in the face of Chaos. Chaos: we are gods! All powerful beings! Blah Blah Blah Taylor: ive killed a god before.

Antony444

Ha! Ha! Well, no, not unless Slaanesh resurrects in a daemonic ex machina... The Drukhari souls will not exactly be fed upon like Slaanesh did; the three other Gods do not have this modus operandi. However if they die, it's going to be interesting, in the Chinese sense of the word, because the Eldar have not returned to the state of immortality of the pre-Fall, given that save two, all their Gods are dead, and so an interesting buffet has opened in the Warp...

Antony444

It was part of the Bakka fleet of Reuenthal. This Battlefleet was four battleships strong.

Anonymous

one thought, if the Skaven are Malal worshipers does that mean the vermin lords are greater daemons in this world? Given the nature of the creatures and the warp they wont need warpstone tech just stealing all the low grade human tech from the sloppy Word Bearers and binding random neverborn to make more powerful weapons etc. warp capable craft with skaven crews stealing and infiltrating various worlds what about the Iron warriors main base with lots of industry and pollution and abandoned spaces and such

Antony444

The specifics of the Skaven will be detailed in the Interludes, but no, they will still need at least in certain sectors some warpstone...but yes, they're going to steal a lot of tech from the Word Bearers...and most of the other Traitor Legions as well.

Brett Tamahori

So a more serious review. Wow, I mean this was a hell of a conclusion to what was already an intense arc. This was probably the most expensive battles the Imperium has fought in a long time, but for what they got out of it was impossibly cheap, even with the loss of Valdor and an irreplaceable Blackstone Fortress. I'm a little curious if they might look at applying the same upgrade, making the fortress into an insanely powerful anti-Chaos weapon, to any of the others, though that's probably something to save for other special opportunities. I'm going to assume they made sure to take the Eye of Night with them when they left, and I don't think the Core was on board it at all, so they can still activate others if needed. I can see an operation to go after the hand of Darkness happening already though, just on the grounds that it's better to have it than not, and its' not like Chaos can be more on alert right now. I'm honestly not sure what the Eldar will do after this. I mean several different things, we can assume that Biel-Tan will do the most stupid thing possible, but others may be less insane. For all the damage she just caused them, Taylor did just do them a hell of a favor, though I don't know if they will see it that way. Once Eldrad recovers from his hangover I expect he'll start moving very quickly, but I have no idea what he's going to do. He does seem to be one of the few Eldar that a) takes Taylor entirely seriously, and b) is willing to think outside the normal Eldar box. We get to see the Queen of Blades vs the Doom of the Aeldari. These must be some of the best fights she's had possibly since the fall, even for her going toe to toe with a weakened Slaanesh is a very real challenge. There are some things even she can't win a fight with, but that doesn't mean she can't drag it out and set them up for something else. Dennis and Gabriella are not going to live this one down in a hurry, especially thanks to Best Dreadnaught. I want to believe he's still somehow wearing the pirate's hat at this point, though I know that's unlikely. We've also found what the most feared weapon of the Squats was, and as a bonus it looks like we even got Leet out of the way for a while, so that's a win-win. Man, that 'The Last Sentinel' section, short but intense. But how else can a man like that go out but like a champion. And so passes Slaanesh. And even ignoring they just lost their god, a lot of people that followed that nightmare just got removed from existence, and there is going to be some interesting fallout from where those fragments end up. I'm also curious what's going to happen with the granddaughter, there is a woman who has destiny written all over her, though we may not find out because this isn't her story. And there goes Commorrach too. Heh, I did wonder if it had been Cegorach that closed those gates, you even called out him having access to one of the other two Core Gates, and very likely the only functioning one. Huh, I guess that if they ever can get the one that Taylor took with her up and running again she does now have the authority to shut down the gate on Terra for good, which is probably about the only thing her new rank is useful for. The Peace Treaty I saw coming. Taylor doesn't want to fight a World Engine, and Neferten finds Taylor entirely too useful to get rid of. Also she has no reason to want to go after her anyway, as long as Taylor doesn't attack her, which is handled by the aforementioned treaty. The Mutual Defense Treaty was a bit of a surprise, but the results of that could be downright funny. While unlikely it leads to a small chance of somebody going after a planet in the Nyx sector, and having Stary Night show up to explain in extensive detail why what they just did was a very foolish idea which they can contemplate on in their next life. Article Six will make life tricky for Eldrad or any others in the small group of sensible Eldar, though given my jokes about it being easier for them to go though a Necron to talk to Taylor in the first place, at least they can get that side started as well. And this doesn't rule out diplomacy, just says that it needs both sides to agree which is not impossible. If nothing else I expect Neferten would take some amusement in Eldar having to get permission from her to open talks. Maybe even enough to let the Eldar try such a thing. I mean we have just had proof that Neferten can be a troll when it suits her, appealing to her sense of humor may be the best bet for some people. And Emps is back in action, well now. Even if he's still stuck to the throne, he's going to be a lot more free to be proactive, as we can see. I feel sorry for Sophia though, she has no idea what she's about to be facing, the worst the Callidus could put her though is nothing compared to this. And the Drukhari lost almost 90% of their population, let us hope the survivors learned something from this. Otherwise Taylor will have to keep educating them.

Vortiboy27

So how does the Emperor get to indirect ruling now? Because he knows that most of his High Lords are selfish powergrabbers who would sooner chuck the Emperor into the Eye of Terror than to cede any kind of power to anyone else, even if that someone else is their liege?

Anonymous

Loved the chapter! So did Kurt Nils survive, or is that a spoiler? I’m still holding out hope for Freya, looked like a perfect set up for a star crossed romance 😛

Antony444

Kurt Nils survived, though like many pilots, he will keep scars of this battle.

Antony444

Now, that's a spoiler and a big one (grin). Yes, in the era of the Great Crusade, most if not all of the High Twelve (and the majority of the Senatorum Imperialis for that matter) would have been dismissed at best, executed at worse. But the problem here is that most of the potential replacements are suffering from the same flaws as the titulars. Corruption (the non-Chaotic kind) is endemic on Terra, it has been this way since early M32...

Forgottenone

I have a major health question about this battle. Will the forces of royal caribbean have to deal with daemon corruption/mental attacks or did the Emperors light heal and cleanses some of the damage done? Or will these side effects be negated mainly cause Slaanesh is dead as it was Slaanesh forces they fought the most? Still I honestly thought Slaanesh was not actually going to die, just ripped apart and remade into a slave of one the other forces of chaos.

Antony444

Yes, of course. Many of the troopers have been given the Emperor's Mercy (aka euthanasia) and there will be tests and protocols for everyone in the hours following the escape. Some will be negated by the death of Slaanesh, but in general those who were too 'tainted' by Excess died screaming when the Blackstone Fortress fired a second time.

Anonymous

'KILL IT! STOP THIS NOISE!' It's one thing to sing badly. It's altogether another thing to sing so horribly, that *even* Chaos demons cannot stand it.

Antony444

True, though these ones weren't sworn to Slaanesh and thus weren't able to enjoy the 'performance'.

Anonymous

Did you mention if Dorne or Khan got out before all the destruction happened?

Antony444

Well, Khan was nowhere nearby. That's the point of Dorn going out to search for him. But no, there was no POV...there might be one in the first interlude (whistles innocently)...
