Saturday Update! (Patreon)

Hello friends! I hope life has been kind to you and that you're hanging in there!

I'm a little sad to report that last week didn't go SUPER WELL, and I wasn't as productive as I hoped to be. I had a kind of rough week in general with a lot of weird problems ranging from personal to mechanical. 

One of the main problems that held up my work was some computer issues- I have an audio problem that I can't seem to fix and more importantly, my backup hard drive failed which was of course alarming since the external hard drive was my only backup of all my work on the game. I have solved that problem hopefully! I'm literally uploading a new backup to a new hard drive as I type this!

But, not all hope is lost! While I wasn't as productive as I hoped, I did still manage to crank out the last couple backgrounds!!!

WE'RE DONE DRAWING BACKGROUNDS FOLKS!

The last couple ones I drew were both logistical and labour nightmares. 

This one took a lot of effort to set up and a fair bit of time to paint, and the CAVE.... the damn cave...

I hated painting this. I hated working on this more than I have ever hated working on anything. I'm never painting a cave again in my life.

BUT IT IS DONE. AND THAT IS WHAT MATTERS.

So what's next? Sprites! 

The next major task I'll be starting next week is sprites! Which will hopefully be more fun and even more exciting ^o^

Now, I find that my artwork follows the same phenomenon as pancakes. There's always that one stupid looking one when you start a new batch. As such, I will begin with my least favourite characters so that it bothers me less LMAO

It will be interesting to begin a new phase of work and to see how I settle in. I'll have to be jumping around a lot and playing the game itself while I make the sprites so this will also serve as yet another round of dialogue testing/editing. 

My Alpha testers have done an amazing job of finding a lot of spelling and grammar errors so I expect that I won't be making many changes- maybe just spicing up the dialogue here or there if I come up with some fun ideas.

Anyway! That's really neither here nor there! The main bullet point here is that SPRITES ARE COMING NEXT WEEK and we shall see how that goes!
