Hi everyone! It's a new month and the beginning of a new phase of work!

Now that I've finished the backgrounds, I've spent the last week getting started on sprites. As always, it took a sort of adjustment period to get into the groove of the new work. The first couple days are always a doozy since I have to make a lot of decisions that will effect my workflow for the rest of the phase- for example, what resolution I'll be drawing at, what brush size I'll use for inking, what style of shading looks nice but is also time-efficient, etc etc.

I've decided that I'll chop the sprite work into two smaller phases- making a 'neutral' side and main sprite for all characters, then playing through the game and adding special expressions where I think they'll spice up the game.

So far, I've gotten a few side-sprites done! These are the smaller sprites that show up beside the dialogue when a character is speaking off-screen.

I have to say, it is very exciting to be able to take screenshots with them on the finished backgrounds. It's really starting to look like a finished game in some places!

I'm actually not sure how much I should show here... some people have expressed a desire to go into the game blind without any spoilers, but on the other hand, I definitely want to keep showing my work to you guys on patreon to be very transparent that I am in fact working every week xD

Let me know how you feel in the comments here if you'd like to see lots of snippets [ I will avoid major spoilers always of course ] or if you'd prefer to see less!

As for what I actually got done, last week I completed 5 side-sprites [ there are 14 characters in total ]. That seems to be about the max that I can handle so I'll probably keep going forward at about that pace. I need to touch up a couple I did on Friday since there's problems with them, but that was kinda bound to happen. Early work in a batch tends to be wonky!

Anyway! I think that wraps it up for this week, I hope everyone is doing okay and staying safe! Thank you so much as always for supporting me, it is an absolute pleasure to work for you!! <3<3<3
