Hey friends! Those of you who have been attending/watching my monthly livestreams know that I've been flirting with burnout for a few months now, and I've been trying to figure out the best way to take a short break away from social media to get my head on straight again — sort of a creative "hard reset." I'd been putting it off because it's never going to be convenient, but the other day I realized that unless I do it now, I won't be able to do it until after Christmas, and I honestly think it needs to be sooner rather than later.
Here's the quick version:
- I'm taking Dec 1-9 off of public social media. This means Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube. I have posts & a new video scheduled on all those platforms, so you guys will still see stuff from me; I just won't be online when it's posted.
- I will not be on Discord, either. I waffled on this decision because I love you guys and Discord isn't stressing me out, but ultimately I think the less time I spend sitting around on the computer, the better this week off will serve me.
- A friend is keeping tabs on my social media during this time. They will let me know if anything pressing comes up (questions that need to be answered, etc.) and may do a little basic liking/"thank you" responding if they have time.
- I will still be on Patreon & available by email. I'll be working hard on Patreon rewards this week, so you should get plenty of updates here. Feel free to email or message me if you want to get in touch!
Literally as soon as I get back from my break, I'll be launching a Patreon special offer that's winter-themed and Critical Role-themed! I'm excited to spend the week prepping for that, and I'll have more information for you guys about that soon.
Thanks as always for your patience, your support, and your kindness! You guys are the highlight of this work and I couldn't be more grateful to have you at my back. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions about this whole "social media break" thing.
