(Sorry I was trying to figure out some images or a video that would show this off and couldn't come up with anything that demonstrated it clearly enough so it's a plain text post)

I got NPC customization working for human town NPCs!  I'm really excited about this one.  So if the player likes a specific body type, or outfit they can now customize the NPCs in town to have that body type or outfit.  Would you like everyone to be a bodybuilder?  or maybe you just really appreciate curvy hips and thighs?

How it works (currently, at least while testing):

Transformation potions can now be placed into human NPC inventories through reverse pickpocketing (ctrl to sneak by default, 'e' to interact with NPC, click on Player Inventory item to transfer to NPC) or else while the NPC is knocked down.  As soon as the potion is placed into the NPC's inventory the NPC will consume the potion.  The current body shapes are the same categories as the body sliders in the character creator.  Each body type has a value from 0 to 10.  0 being nothing 10 being the maximum of that shape.  The "default" body type, which has a value of 0 for all body types, is the skinny body type.

You can also add armor/clothing now as well and they will equip that armor item.  I haven't set racial limits on armor functions yet so if you put goblin rags on the minotaur or something similar expect to see some bugs.  But if there's a specific outfit that you want to see on an NPC it's the same reverse pickpocketing system as the potions or else wait until the NPC has been knocked down and then switch out their clothing.

There's still some testing to do and some optimization to go through but so far the test cases I've run through seem to all be working.  I still need to add options for skin tinting, I was thinking I'll add rough color categories per potion and then have it randomize between 3 or four different shades of that color?  Should I add the option to add horns, tails, and wings to human NPCs?  Is that something that people want to see too?

Just don't make the mechanic permanent) It would make more sense if the villages were all different. Also, as for the MC creation - I would start with some average forms and make everything else achievable only through the game.

Sound awesome, I was really sad not being one of those getting townie creator when I played fable 3

I was thinking the same thing for the player character creation. Maybe limit the sliders to 1/3 or 1/4 of their current maxes? But I'm not sure what you mean with the town NPC customization? Would the features reset after a few in game days? I was thinking of making it a totally optional system and each NPC would have a premade unique look without the player needing to do anything but then if the player wanted to tweak the look of some of the NPCs on their own then they could?

Oh man, tell me about it. They put way too many features from that game behind different paywalls and promotional things. I'm really hoping that Fable 4 doesn't do the same thing.
