I don't think Don made himself disappear. Why would he not take his money or sell his assets. Everything he had went to Carole pretty much. Why would he disappear and leave everything behind when he wanted to take all his animals to Costa Rica where he could bred them freely

If I wanna play devil's advocate for a second... I don't think it was implied that he didn't take anything, what I got from it was that he had tons of hidden wealth that even Carole couldn't have known about. People who buy and bury gold bars don't put their eggs in one basket.

There's some strange shit going on in Florida or some really strange laws. I know in my state if you verbally threaten to kill or just harm someone and there are 3rd party witnesses you can go to jail for that. So I have to assume that there was no one to corroborate Don's assertion that Carol had threatened to kill him hence the restraining order is denied. That power of attorney is fishy as hell. No normal person would use the word disappear as a reason to execute a power of attorney but then we're not dealing with normal people.
