“Are you still going to continue with Sewing Guild’s requests?”
“Of the course!”
“Do you know what mahjong is?”
“No, I don’t.”
“Okay then.”

* (T/N: the mahjong part is a response to when Alrina said ‘mochi no ron’ that I translated to ‘of the course’)

I thought there was mahjong in this world, but at least Alrina doesn't seem to know about it.
If it didn’t exist, I could make one, sell it to the Merchant Guild, get a patent for it, and then I'm sure I'll be rich. I can see the punchline that there was something similar with a different name though.

When Alrina went to look at the request board, she immediately decided to accept the request to make cotton fabric.
Alrina originally had Sewing Skills, so she may just be having fun doing it.

“Now then, I’ll go accept a level 4 request... wait, what, is this?”

Capturing arachne, collecting arachne thread, capturing killer silkworm, collecting killer silkworm cocoon, capturing giant tarantula, collecting giant tarantula thread.

“The difficulty level has jumped up too much! Wait, these are level 40 requests...”

What a careless Lotorl-chan. Ohohoho.

“Once again, the level 4 requests are... repairing old clothes, removing stains, making socks, making pillows, making stuffed animals, capturing silkworms, delivering silkworm cocoons, delivering mulberry leaves, delivering sewing needles, delivering cutting scissors, delivering thread cutting scissors. Fu─mu.”

I guess I'll go with delivering sewing needles.

“Generally, you purchase sewing needles at the Blacksmith Guild or Engraving Guild and bring them here, but you are just going to make them here anyway, right?”
“How many times to the next level?”
“15 times. In other words, if you want to achieve this with just sewing needles, you'll need 150 sewing needles.”

Does that mean I need 10 for one request?
I don't know the market price of sewing needles, but since it's mostly an errand quest, the reward money will probably be small. At worst, it'll be a deficit. It doesn't matter to me though.

“I understand.”

Onee-san looked fed up, but let's not mind her and go on making sewing needles regardless.

I took out iron from the storage... is using iron okay?

“Is there a specified material for sewing needles?”
“There isn't. Iron, copper, or anything else is fine, but the reward money remains the same, so if you make them with gold, you'll be majorly in the red.”
“I see. By the way, would Onee-san be happy if I made them out of gold?”
“Eh? Well, that’s, I’d be happy enough to secretly embezzle them behind their back.”
“You can’t do anything bad, okay?”
“I'm just kidding. You're kidding, too, right?”
“Well, I wonder about that?”
“Geez, again?”

I took out a gold bar from Storage and showed them off to Onee-san.

“That’s, it's not real, right? It's just a toy, right? ...Hey? Why are you silent!?”

I activated my Alchemy Skill, stretched the gold bar I placed on the counter long and thin, cut them at the length of a sewing needle to create 150 pieces of them, and then I created thread holes and sharpened the needle tips, and the gold sewing needles were complete.

“Go ahead.”
“...They’re fakes, right? There's no way you have the real thing, right?”
“Why don't you use your Appraisal Skill to find out? That is, if you have it.”
“I have a magnifying glass for appraisals at least! I'll appraise it, okay? I'll do it, okay!?”
“Go ahead, go ahead.”

When Onee-san took out a magnifying glass for appraisal from the shelf behind the counter and appraised the sewing needles, her eyes widened so much that her eyeballs popped out, and her mouth hung open in shock. I want to throw an insect into her mouth to make her even more surprised.

Ah, the insect cage... I left it behind at the orphanage...?

“T-these, are real...!”
“I remembered something urgent, if you’ll excuse me.”
“Ha, eh?”
“Well then.”

I have to hurry back to the orphanage and collect the insect cage, it’ll be trouble if it gets sold to a merchant as a novelty.

“Wait!? What should I do with this?”

A loud voice called out to me from behind, but I don't have time to pay attention to Onee-san right now. Hurry, hurry!
