So I have a bit of a confession to make.  Normally when I've been posting these minicomic batches I've been putting up work I did earlier in the week, but lately I've found myself finishing minicomics on Friday before I make my write-ups.  These minis have been good for raising and maintaining awareness of my work so it's something I want to keep up on but I also feel like I've been crunching kind of hard to get everything done that I need to so my time is getting squeezed into Fridays, which I don't want to start leaning on too much.  But anyways, I've been keeping up 2 a week which I'm happy with, so I'll go ahead and get those up for you to enjoy right now.

#060: The big six-oh.  One of the elements I wanted to highlight in Dead Winter is that Tombstone isn't an isolated community, and they don't have an antagonistic relationship with the world around them.  There's other communities and they would have services they can share with one another to build towards mutual well-being.  One of the ways to frame macguffins in the game for why you go out into the city and beat up actual antagonists like cops, raiders and similar is you're out running errands either for people in Tombstone or for communities elsewhere.  Here we can see Tombstone's chief export is electricity, and they do trade in order to keep their kitchen stocked.  As the melee specialists of the game I've kinda started letting Lizzie and Lou come off as lowkey very physically strong, so they can haul that many car batteries by hand.  Bringing Pip and Pop back by hand is going to be a struggle.

#061: Mr. Cuddles has been a very popular character for as long as I've been running this comic, so it's only fitting that he should get his own strip.  I've lived with cats my entire life, and I always approach them and all other animals by affording them full control of our interactions.  You always present the hand and always let them sniff, and if they decide they want to be bothered then you can give them affection, but that choice is always theirs to make.

That's it for this week's minis.  I should have more to share next week- I plan to have the main comic done this weekend so keep an eye out for that too.  Until then, be well and take care.

I once heard someone say "caring for a cat is a lesson in consent" and I haven't stopped thinking about it since
