Comic Report #10.5: Better Ideas (Patreon)

When the current page went up I'd typed a whole post about my choices for using EKG waves as a mechanism for showing increasing tension within a scene, but when I posted it the post vanished in a Patreon hiccup. Which is probably for the best because a few hours after I realized I wasn't entirely satisfied with my original idea for tension (pictured above) because it ruined the sense of 1st-person perspective I also wanted to capture. Sometimes I only get a better idea for how I could have handled an effect or a visual mechanism after I'd already posted a page where I could see it completed, and thanks to the magic of the Internet I can actually go back and make changes on the fly. I've done this maybe a dozen times throughout the life of the comic, and the latest page is just one more instance in a practice I'll probably keep in my back pocket for as long as I make comics.
