Content

As most of you would have noticed by now, the monthly dump is running a little late this time around. I usually try to get content out by the 5th-6th of each month- sometimes I get delayed later than this, but I'm making this post now because I'm in a bit of a bind, and not sure what will happen in the coming days.

I've already discussed this on the Discord Server, but I've recently updated my Router and Internet speed. This was to solve an issue with my poor internet quality that became apparent around last year December. In a twist of shitty luck, my internet actually managed to get even worse. After days of troubleshooting and even calling in a technician from my ISP, I was able to rule out that the problem wasn't my router, it was my Laptop all along.  Now after troubleshooting stuff with my Laptop company for a solid day, they're telling me the only course of action left for me to take at this moment is to reboot my laptop. So now I have to back up all my files AGAIN after just recently moving to this new rig. That in itself was already a pain in the ass trying to get files situated again for all of the previous Dropbox links. I wish I could do my last workaround and just link the content directly to the site, but it's just too much content for poor old Patreon to host; I was pretty busy for February.

Another option is to buy a new wireless card and see if that will help the situation, but that will also take time and money to get done, so there'd still be some delays.

As things are right now, I have abysmal internet to the point of making tasks like streaming impossible. This is a huge hit to my production of not only Patreon and Commissioned work, but arting as a whole when having a connection one minute, then it's gone the next for god knows how long. And paying for a new level of internet service is dumb if I can't even use it, so yea, I gotta get this sorted as soon as possible.

For users who want their content- Everything is up to date in the #Content-update channel of the Patreon Discord. If you are not part of the Discord, I kindly ask that you wait a little longer for me to fix my internet issues. If I were to link the Dropbox now, and I have to resort to rebooting my system, the link will end up dead and I'll have to relink it whenever I do get things back on track. This wait cuts out a lot of possible confusion for people who nabbed it same day, and people just pledging only to get a dead link.

I'm deeply sorry to any newer members of the Patreon, when stuff like this happens it's not exactly the best look to walk into. In the meantime, Enjoy last years master dump and Jan's content. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to PM me.

Sorry to hear about this bullshit happening to you, Light. I hope this gets resolved very soon.

You don't need to have an active internet connection for people to access your dropbox. You just need to be connected to the internet while you're uploading the files to dropbox. I'm guessing you have a folder on your computer that syncs with dropbox. When you sync files with dropbox, they get uploaded to dropbox's servers. People are downloading from dropbox's servers, they aren't downloading directly from you.

Oh yea, I'm aware of it just being on the cloud, but I'm just super paranoid about putting my trust in cloud services. Also Dropbox is really....weird? when it comes to that. You essentially have a weird ghost copy of all ur files backed up in the main folder upon signing into a new/restarted system that you have to redownload to get. Since I like keeping all my Dropbox files in "physical", what I'll do is delete the cloud versions of everything and copy/paste the hard copies from my backup hd. This pretty much wipes all the passwords for what I have thus far. I CAN upload the dump to Dropbox rn and in the event of me having to reboot, I just not touch the Dropbox, but I do have to wipe stuff eventually since these cloud files do still count as files and i'll get a "file already exists, do you..." message. TL;DR I'm a caveman when it comes to this stuff, know the bare minimum, and feel like I'll fuck this up somewhere if I try to do things in parts

That does sound like an unnecessarily difficult process, but I guess it's fine if you want to do it that way. That still doesn't require a constant internet connection though, you just need to be online while you're clearing out and uploading files to dropbox. Your laptop can be turned off the rest of the time and people will be able to download your files from dropbox without any problems.

Wait, what did you mean when you said "reboot my laptop"? I assumed you meant the literal meaning of "reboot", just turning your laptop off and back on. That's why I've been talking about constant internet connections, since I thought that you meant that you had to keep your laptop on 24/7. If you meant something different, then most of the stuff I've said is pretty meaningless.

Oh no, I have to reboot my whole HD lmao tried doing every possible fix with customer service/tech support, but nothing was working. My only options now are to do that, OR get a new wifi card. I'm gonna try to do the latter this weekend since it doesn't affect my overall system.

Do you know how to change a wifi card? Depending on the model you might have to do some soldering. You'll also have to get a wifi card that's compatible with your laptop.

Oh I'm getting it looked at lol Like I said, I'm too much of a caveman to go tampering with stuff
