I wanted to do a comic about a superhero, and she was "Super Fat Chick". The problem is, right off the bat, I know how this sounds, and that's the problem (and why I never went through with it).

The idea was, "Super Fat Chick" was, by day, world-famous supermodel "Ann O'Rexic", and of course she was unhealthily thin, almost to the point of being skeletal. Everyone loved her when she was thin, of course, but when someone was in trouble, they needed a superhero.

Ann O'Rexic would eat so much as one bite of food, and immediately plump up to become "Super Fat Chick". She could do amazing feats, and usually ended up crushing enemies handily. Then, she would, um, "purge" and resume being Ann O'Rexic.

The whole thing was supposed to be a commentary about social norms, how people see and categorize women who are either too large or too thin, how Super Fat Chick was beloved when she was working to fight crime but no one wanted to date her because, well, she was big; but they would fawn on the thin & pretty but largely helpless Ann O'Rexic, and so on and so on.

There was *no* way I could find for myself to finesse this in a way that would adequately communicate what I was trying to do. The truth is, a comic like this can't come from a straight guy, because it is automatically suspect right out the gate. And in truth I'd probably botch the delivery of it, and make it sound like something really crappy if I tried to do it.

I was asked to do a proposed logo for a Bail Bonds company. They went out of business before I could really get anywhere with this, even though they liked it.

I was going to do a spin-off series of "Empires" at one point (I had a whole bunch of spin-offs planned) but it never launched because, as I've mentioned, by the time it was wrapping up I was eager to quit working in the "furry" genre. Some ideas may yet return, though, in altered forms.

Another of the female character, a Fennec fox based alien named "Angel".

I did a lot of these types of sketches to "try it out". I may revisit some of the design stuff if nothing else, but the furry stuff will probably never happen again, unless I do a "Holiday Special", haha.

Until later!
