What an incredible sequel!! I found myself way more on edge in this one than even the first one which I thought would be impossible. The continuity is just amazing and the acting was superb! Enjoy :)

“WE’VE GOTTA GO BACK!” “Back? Back where, Doc?” “BACK TO TREASURE PLANET MARTY, THE MOST UNDERRATED DISNEY MOVIE EVER!”

Holland !

I LOVE that you're watching back to the future at the same time as stranger things, the time period is the same and as you saw during the first episode of season three, back to the future is featured during this season. :D

Mike Dispo

A bit of background: - Back to the Future was not planned to have sequels. The end of the first movie was supposed to be it -- the shtick about their kids being the problem in the future was supposed to end there, with Marty, Doc, and Jennifer flying towards the future. It ends like an old adventure serial film/chapter play -- the heroes going off on a new adventure -- a cliffhanger. But the first film was so successful so they had to make BTTF2 and 3 (which was originally filmed as one movie but split into 2). That's why Jennifer was forced to go with them in the beginning of BTTF2 as that's how the first one ended. - Jennifer was recast and is now played by Elisabeth Shue because the original actress dropped out to care for her ailing mother.

Mike Dispo

Also, the film's prediction of the future wasn't meant to be a serious attempt at predicting 2015. But they were still able to predict a number of things accurately I think.

Regarding why the future didn't change instantaneously once Biff returns from the past to give himself the almanac -- it kinda does. The reason why the older Biff looks like he's having a heart attack after returning to 2015 is because he's slowly disappearing (similar to how Marty was disappearing in the school dance if his parents didn't kiss) and would've been replaced in the same period by a future version of the 1985A Trump-ian version of Biff. Marty and Doc would've noticed the future change from 2015 to 2015A if they had stayed a bit longer, but they immediately left in the time machine after Biff arrived.

Rhetorical Thrill

That's correct as far as I understand it too. Remember in the first movie how Marty's siblings were slowly disappearing from the photograph? The changes happen slowly when you're in the present and the past has been altered, vs when you're in the past and the future has changed.

Rhetorical Thrill

I have to say I *adore* how observant you are. Most people miss the little details, but you get most of them right away. I also love that you clocked baby Elijah Wood, no one EVER notices that! This one is so great for all the setup and payoff, and I can't wait for the last one, which I love for its heart!

That whole storyline in alternate 1985 makes me so sad, Lorraine's grief and her horrible relationship with Biff. I feel like all the actors do the most with the different versions of themselves across generations and I feel like it really underlines the themes to not recast older or younger versions

I am so happy you shut off the film as soon as the "To Be Continued" zoomed in to avoid the trailer. Perfect. Thank you. What I found funny (among other things) is that there is a jaws 10 in this movie's version of 2015, because although there is no Jaws 10 in real life, it feels like there is an implication in it being there that the movie did get right. By 2015, there were movie franchises that have way more installments than any movie had in earlier decades, and, in some cases, way more than they should have. It illustrated correctly how Hollywood milks franchises. Just look at Halloween and Terminator, not to mention the MCU-verse. I wanted so badly to answer all your questions, but I didn't have time (haha, get it? Time? *Ba-dump-bump, snare*). Great reaction, Oscar. I'm so, so excited for part three!

I'm excited to see this. I will be having a marathon tonight. One thing, if want to share with you guys accidentally caught a ghost on camera from out side a cave this weekend. The funny thing is I went right back in there. Lol

Thank you so much for posting this today Oscar, I've been having a rough time lately and your enthusiasm over one of my favourite movies is such a treat to watch! I know people will say this about anything these days but I think these movies altered my brain chemistry as a child and now I'm a weird nerd with an above average interest in all things time travel. This movie also takes my favourite highly specific time travel trope - past and future versions of the same character interacting with each other - and runs with it. No matter how many times I watch this I always start jumping up and down in my seat when old!Biff talks to young!Biff, when Doc hands his past self a tool, and when one-week-ago-Marty runs out the door and accidentally knocks out his future self. It's incredible stuff, so fun and creative! I also adore Griff's performance, it's a small part but it's so funny, he's completely unhinged and it's great! I'm also so blown away by the special effects in this, there are so many times in this movie when an actor is acting opposite themself and you can barely tell because of the near flawless editing (plus creative use of body doubles and great makeup/costuming and all that). Finally, being there for October 21st 2015 was great! I went to the cinema because they were showing movies 1 and 2 together, timing it so that the characters arriving in the future happened at the same time in the movie and "real life" (they even adjusted for time zones because I live in Europe, so this was in the evening for me). These movies all came out before I was even born so it was the only time I've ever watched them on the big screen and it was incredible!

Keeley Thurman

Haven't watched this series in a long long time. I didn't remember how everything happened; such a fun film!

Derrick Belone

Did you see Biff’s match book turned into Auto Detailing, because in the future he cleaning cars 😂🤣😂 Which is why the manure scene was twice which changed his future of cleaning cars. Perfection ✨

chvrrvism

they did reshoot the intro scene! i think its mostly because the actress for jennifer was replaced

Ali D

I think Oscar is a LOTR Superfan so I would have been disappointed if he didn’t cop it! 😄

Brian Matthews

All of the Back to the Futures are great, but the first, and the outro of the last is the best...I love the final scene of the third. You will see why,.,.the sound at the end of the last one is phenomenal!!!! Nothing better!

Keirstin Meunier

I remember they showed all three films in theaters on October 21st, 2015 and it was freaking awesome to experience them like that!

Devon Bauerkemper

You are legitimately the first person I have ever watched react to this that has ever recognized Elijah Woods!! That’s awesome! 😅

Francisco Alvarado

Feels good to revisit this trilogy after so many years, seeing you Oscar react to it takes me back when I had that similar thrill watching it for the first time. I gotta say the third one, at least for me, is the weakest of them all. It's not that it ain't good but like it kinda fails to capture the same charm the other two have. Nevertheless it is still enjoyable and a good closure for the whole trilogy. I'll look forward to it

Rich H

First of all, even with the flu, it's great to see your beaming smile at the beginning of these videos. Second-- it's also great to see your absolute joy with these movies!

Paul

I've seen Back to the future 2 like 10 times by this point and never noticed Elijah Wood :O

SD

Nobody reacts to Treasure Planet, at this point I’ll take a non-first time watch.

fix

Can't wait for you to watch the next one. I have a feeling it will be your favorite out of the 3

Dave M.

Cubs won the World Series in baseball in 2016!! Close enough, Back to the Future Part II. And the Biff 1985A character is highly based on Donald Trump (assholerie, look, crime, money, cheater, etc).

Sofia W

Hope all is well Oscar, and that you are feeling better from the flu 🙌

Shané Kummer

I just got done watching both of your back to the future. I hope you are feeling better. Best of wishes.

Tua Storfält

Great reaction, the way you speak about this makes me think you would love the series DARK. It's a mix between stranger things and back to the future but done to perfection. Nothing is left to chance, your head explodes several times in the best way possible.
