🌍 Patreon Update Is Done (Patreon)

Hi Patrons,

We are now in a position to confirm that the backlog of content at Intermediate Tier + has now been added so the archives of content are now available and Patrons can now move tiers from Basic to Basic +, Intermediate to Intermediate + or any other combination except to the £8 Intermediate Tier.

In addition many of you may have been aware we ran into difficulty as the price at Intermediate Tier could not be changed. Hence the current short term creation of Intermediate Tier + (the new Intermediate Tier) which I explained in this short audio on July 15th for Intermediate and Advanced Tier Patrons

The 4 Tiers available to join should you wish to change your Tier level are as follows
Basic Tier (£3)
Basic Tier + (£5)
Intermediate Tier (£9.50)
Advanced Tier (£14)

For Intermediate Tier Patrons who remain at the current £8 level, access to our weekly Podcasts will remain available to you as quite simply we can not accept that anyone would make payment and have no access to content (some Patrons may for example be unaware of the changes we are making).

The design of our restructure is for all existing Intermediate Tier Patrons to move to Intermediate + (or Basic, Basic+ or Advanced) but we can not enforce this change and there is no obligation to change tier.

The existing £8 Intermediate Tier has now been removed from access and is now only available for those currently at that Tier level. New Patrons or those that leave and decide to rejoin will only have access to the Basic, Basic +, Intermediate + and Advanced Tier levels.

A reminder that new Patrons will only have access to Slack from Basic + and above. Existing Patrons who choose to remain at Basic Tier will not be removed from Slack, you are welcome to stay. We're not that horrible.

The changes to what is available at each Tier level will come into effect from August 1st 2023 and with that in mind any Patreon who wishes to change Tier between this post going live and July 31st will have their additional payment this month refunded. For example if you wish to change now from Intermediate Tier (£8) to Advanced Tier (£14) we will refund the additional payment (£6) that you would be required to pay through Patreon to gain access. Patrons can of course wait until August 1st should they prefer.

In addition to the above the opportunity to 'refer a friend' to Patreon and help grow our community is also now available to you. Please notify me if you are introducing someone to Patreon and they sign up. We will refund your payment for that month and will also refund the third month of payment for your 'friend'.

An example: If you introduce two new Patrons today we will refund your payment for this month and last month and we will refund the two new Patrons payment in September (third month of payment) if they aren't sick of us by then!

Subscription billing is also now available for new Patrons meaning that anyone who signs up today (21st), will be charged on the same date next month. There is no impact to existing Patrons who will remain charged on the 1st of the month.

Unfortunately we can't currently offer annual subscription (pay annually rather than monthly), we believe this is related to having just turned subscription billing on and are awaiting a response from Patreon. Once we have an update on this we will of course keep you informed. The plan is to offer the maximum discount Patreon allows of 16%.
