Mihawk is definitely the coolest of the Shichibukai, it's great we got to meet him so early and it sets up Zoro's character and motivation so well.

Lets gooooooooooooooo Mihawk's name is Dracule Mihawk, but his pirate nickname is "Hawkeye", kinda like how people refer to Luffy as "Straw Hat". Mihawk's boat is shaped like a coffin, and his sword is in the shape of a cross. Imagine being out on the sea and you see a cross floating across the water in the distance lol. Just saying ima be paddling the other way 💀 Seems you remembered a bit of that from a comment! Nice!

I wish they would have included in the live-action; "is that okay with you king of the pirates" line from Zoro. I feel like that's when he devotes his full loyalty to Luffy.

The appearance of Mihawk this early on was probably the moment I became more interested in One Piece as a story. It serves as a great end goal for one of the characters and a taste of the trials and adversity the crew will have to endure down the road. Also love the fact that you two noticed the Wado Ichimonji (Kunia's blade) was the only one that didn't break, almost symbolic in nature of the will of Kuina and Zoro's resolve remaining even though he's been soundly beaten. The strength to be the greatest swordsman is stronger than ever before.

I work graveyard shifts and when I saw these two particular episodes were posted right at the end of my shift, I was so stoked I almost watched it at work . But then I decided I needed to be in the comfort of my apartment so I left work early.

Just to set expectations, I would love it if they continue but AFAIK the current plan is to only watch the episodes covered by the live action so not five years at all at this pace.

If you re watch the opening of the first Live Action episode, you are able to see Mihawks boat with the others if you look close enough!
