Have you guys thought about doing Masters of the Air?

Benjamin

I literally just came to check if this was uploaded and it said it was uploaded just seconds ago, crazy. I hope maybe in the future you react to some movies as well, cheers!

Seems like every time I find a new reaction channel watching BAND OF BROTHERS I end up rewatching the entire series again. This show premiered on a Sunday night in September 2001; a day and a half later we were were at war again, and I remember tuning in every week to help take my mind off the insanity on our TVs every night. I truly enjoyed your videos on this series, and I'm sure I'm not the first to tell you that Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg have made two other miniseries dealing with WWII servicemen, 2010's THE PACIFIC (Marines fighting against the Japanese) and the currently airing MASTERS OF THE AIR (Air Force crews carrying out the bombing campaign against Germany), should you ever care to revisit this subject. Thanks again for the reactions.

Winters is the man. Those words in the end rlly made me shed a tear and I VERY rarely do. Thanks Haylo & Kiss for the continuous amazing content.

King_Panarisi

Please consider watching the veterans talking in the 'We stand alone' documentary (You can find it on Youtube) and afterwards y'all should watch 'The Pacific' and 'Masters of the Air'.

Hermann Goering was the head of the German Air Force and second in command of Germany at the end of the war. He stole art treasures from across Europe for his personal collection and was sentenced to death at the war trials in Nuremberg but committed suicide before the sentence could be carried out.

Enjoyed your reaction to this series. A natural progression is "The Pacific" (2010) (10 episodes) that is a companion series to BoB, and having the same executive producers Hanks/Spielberg. --The Pacific (2010) is no more dark, violent, or brutal than BoB. The Spielberg masterpiece "Schindler's List" (1993) is also important to watch, but less time investment. RT=98%. IMDb = 9. Metacritic = 95%. Nominated for 12 Oscars, won 7 Oscars including Best Picture.

Thanks for that description. Goering was also an early associate of Hitler. Goering joined the Nazi Party in 1922 (when the Nazi Party was nothing) after hearing a speech by Hitler. He was quickly given leadership positions in the Nazi Party.

both Albert Blithe and Speirs would go on and kIck ass in the Korean war.

Its been a pleasure watching BoB alongside you ladies! Great reactions to each and every episode. Hopefully, you will continue with The Pacific and later on Masters of the Air!

As excited as we are to see you react to The Pacific. If you aren't used to graphic war media, please take a break. Band of Brothers, while definitely very graphic, really highlights and portrays the brotherhood and camaraderie of Easy Company, The Pacific focuses on the sheer brutality of the Pacific theater.

Thank you for reacting to this series. It was quite the experience going through it yet again with your very heartwarming and reflective reaction. I wanted to wait commenting until the last episode just to take it all in. Before Band of Brothers I was not very interested in war movies or series, but a friend of mine recommended this to me when it first came out on DVD. Needless to say I was quite overwhelmed by how incredible it was. I think it speaks to us on a very emotional and humane level. Not only because of what they did and how it was portrayed in the series, but also because of when the war happened. It was a time when technology was advanced enough for mass destruction and modern warfare, but also too primitive for soldiers to have proper good communication and rapid updates on current events and their friends and families at home. Not to say war today or before WW2 was or is any easier, but I think the mindset must have been quite terrifying at the front line. Especially since the life you're used to back home is so "modern". I don't know. Something about that era makes this quite somber and reflective for me. WW2 was heartbreaking in so many ways that we may sometimes forget the heroic and self sacrificing acts soldiers did. I think this series really highlights the bond and the core of why they kept going forth so bravely. I really appreciated your reactions to this. I must have seen this series 30 or 40 times by now (!!! It doesn't get any easier, you always end of crying), it is one of my favorite shows of all time, not for the war or action, but for the heart and sincerity of these soldiers.

Masters of the air is so good!! A little (or a lot) whitewashed but still an amazing tv show

Presence Unknown

you gals should take a break and then watch The Pacific

Robert Snyder

Thank you for your reaction to this series! It was perfect. Can’t wait to follow you two for what’s next. ❤️

Rainy Days

I let the end credits of the show play over your wrap up and the videos ended perfectly together and that was very very very satisfying.

Mike

Thank you, both. I'd like to suggest "We Stand Alone Together" documentary created w/the series. Nothing traumatic and it allows you to really meet the men. The Pacific is far heavier & graphic, don't know if it's a fit for you right now.

Definitely react to the documentary. I would also highly recommend watching The Pacific next

Excellent series and reactions. In addition to some of the other suggestions here, if y'all are interested there's a really good German mini series called "Generation War" (Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter) that covers the German perspective of WWII, on the eastern front. While afaik completely fictionalized (unlke BoB) it's an excellent companion piece to BoB.

sven

Other must-watch features are the "11th episode" et al, and sure, maybe things like Shindler's List. The Pacifc is also good, though I'd strongly recommend against watching it as an immediate follow up to BoB given tonal whiplash, and since that's an even less... fun show to watch. Without spoilers, BoB is a tragic yet heroic story of a real US unit that was thrown into a lot of shit on the western front / D-Day invasion, and that persevered in the face of adversity with camaraderie et al. The Pacifc, iirc, has next to none of that, as the Pacific theater / US marine corps island hopping was truly horrific in just about every imaginable. Generation War, by contrast, is much more like BoB. 'cept from the perspective of a handful of young people who were completely and totally on the wrong side of history, somewhat arguably through no direct fault of their own. edit: for the pacific theater in general, if you ever head down that direction, see also "Flags of Our Fathers" / "Letters from Iwo Jima" (a pair of films that depicts the same battle of Iwo Jima from both the US and Japanese perspective; the latter, arguably, is a much stronger film). And Terrance Malick's masterpiece "The Thin Red Line". edit 2: and of course there's Spielberg's own "Saving Private Ryan" which also covers D-Day seen in BoB ep 2 + 3, 'cept from the perspective of the troops landing at the beaches.

The Colonel

I'm truly disappointed that it's over because I know that I'll have to wait six months until I get a chance to feel young again when you do "The Pacific". Then it will be another six months before I get to see "Masters of the Air" on here.

The Colonel

If it isn't obvious by my screen name, the military is the only job I've ever had. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity I've earned. It is an honor to lead men into battle. I feel like a fish out of water not being in uniform anymore. Unimportant, forgotten, like the pair of sneakers in the back of your closet that haven't been worn in years. I've been told by numerous people to make a YouTube channel and "get back in the fight". I just wanted to thank you ladies for transporting me back to my happy place if only for one hour at a time. You made an old, broken-down squadron commander smile. I thank the both of you from the bottom of my heart as I eagerly wait to see the Marines in "The Pacific".

C Russ

Please watch what is considered the “11th episode” or the bonus episode, “We Stand Alone Together.” It’s the documentary which they pulled the interview portions from. You’ll get to meet a few more names of the show and you’ll get to hear more about the true stories from the real men. I’ve really enjoyed watching along with you ladies. You’re very humble and graceful. Take care. 🤙🏻

Brent Petty

I see you also have a few movie reactions. If you haven't seen it, you might want to react to Saving Private Ryan. It's very much in the same vein as this series.

Taylor Frazier

Loved watching this series again with y'all. It felt like I was watching this for the first time again, raw emotions and deep thought. Thank you for that. It can't be said enough how much those soldiers sacrificed. Whenever I tell a veteran Thank you, I always try to say "Thank you for your sacrifice" instead of service. They lose parts of themselves, and they do it so that we can live the lives we do. It's not a "service rendered". It's a sacrifice given

Haylo

Love this. I think we'll adopt that too. "Thank you for your sacrifice" has much more meaning. Thanks for sharing! 💕
