This and the previous episode are a start to the next "part" of the show. All those missing puzzle pieces in the broad picture that seem to never get answered are now falling into place and it's only a matter of time before we start getting whole images that can paint the whole story together. The story of AoT is already told from the very start, and all the pieces are there, but if you don't get told what the puzzle you're building is, it's hard to get started. You've just been told what the puzzle is.

He's had that fight/convinction since before he even ate his dad!😂 Like Grisha & Eren Kruger. I find it intriguing to ponder on...like is it Fate? Mere coincidence that that paticular Titan seems to be particularly inheherited by those specific people?😭 As Big Eren said, whatever era The Attack Titan "finds itself in", it always chases freedom *specifically* - compared to any other Titan. Cause I had a thought like yes, all the other intelligent Titans each have powers catered to them & whatnot; BUT they don't seem to have a GOAL or intense DRIVE the way the Attack (& you would also say the Founding) Titan seemingly have. "It's like a whole different show", that's exactly how I felt when I reached that point in the Manga. And tbh, I didn't like it. There was too much change in too little time, which alienated me from the show and actually made me put the manga down. I loved the little cozy world we had and the mystery of what's outside of it, and I wasn't ready to leave yet, combined with not being too happy with what I was leaving it for... It took years before I picked the story up again by binging the Anime start to finish in less than three weeks - and LOVING it. You deserve the credit for that, since it was your first reaction videos that got me back into it, so thx! 🙏

When Kruger mentioned saving Mikasa and Armin towards Grisha, I bursted out in tears the first time I saw it. Grisha knew all along that his son's friends will be important. Clairvoyance is usually cringe in stories, but this one really hit hard.

Just picture Ymir the founding titan at the top of a family tree, all eldians are connected to her since she was the first person to have awaken the titan power. BTW the attack titan translated in Japanese is the title of the anime ;)

While the next episode raises some questions, I really take this moment with Kruger as the closing of the first half of AoT and this whole new mystery concerning "memories" as the hook to get people interested in S4. The next episode is like an epilogue, but we are splitting hairs lol

I don,t know if someone already mentioned this but Erens titan name in Japanese is “shinjeki no kiyojin” which is the name of the show in Japanese. So all along the name of the show was Erens titan name, unfortunately in English they decided to translate the show name to attack on titan instead of just attack titan (probably because they didn’t know at the time that it was meant to Erens titan name)

Just want to add- Ymir (our Ymir) and Historia have some sort of romance (i.e. "My only regret is I never got to marry you"), although it is shown majority through subtext. Although, this has been somewhat debated, it's mostly accepted by the community. Just a little love story that breaks my heart.

Idk... All we know is that Ymir had a crush on Historia and Historia loved Ymir at least as a friend. There is really nothing that would point to more than that. That marriage quote was just Ymir confessing her love Ymir-style, with a joke (since same sex marriage doesn't seem to be anything close to realistic there).

Although I agree that it's pretty one-sided when it just comes to show moments, I really don't think it's fair to say same-sex marriage isn't a thing here? I understand people treat life and having children as a big thing in the show, but to my knowledge there's nothing stating anybody's against it. Just a thought, I guess. Yeah, it literally means "advancing (or attacking) titan(s)." I figured it was a localization error, but I read that Isayama himself chose the english name. I guess he must have just misunderstood the english at the time, which is unfortunate because it really is an awesome play on the title that is lost to most english audiences.

Yeah I think calling the show and Erens titan attacking titan or just attack titan would’ve been better but the author doesn’t understand the English very well as he always travels to the west with translator team to help him talk to fans and the press

But we don't even see any openly gay couples, so it would only be logical to assume that same sex marriage isn't a thing. And while it is a fictional world, it's very clearly modeled after our past societies in Europe. If there are differences we are usually told or shown (titans, walls, etc.). So imo, there is no reason to assume that their societies treat homosexuality any different than we did in our past.

That scene alone was deeply nuanced if one were to analyze it, you’ll come up with alot of variables that prevented Kruger from saving Dina and executing the plan way before Grisha got involved.

Kruger had reasons for not employing his plan earlier. It would’ve set Eldia on a more arduous path. Especially when it came to Dina, Dina herself was like an attack vector! Kruger didn’t let her become a titan out of fear for her, but for what would happen if Marley had an endless supply of royal blood. It was for the welfare of humanity, or at least that's what Kruger thought. It’s up to our personal perspectives to decide if what he did was right or wrong.

In Japanese, "Attack Titan" is "Shingeki no Kyojin", which is the name of the show. English was translated slightly differently because Japanese can be very contextual and they probably didn't know this wordplay would tie in later. Either way, for the Japanese audience this was the big moment where the name of the series gets dropped in the series XD
