Super long sleep video? Yes. Wholesome, classic ASMR? Yes. A powerful start into the New Year? Yes.

This video is all these things and more. I have so many intentions for this. I know "Hypnotherapist" doesn't sound as exciting as "pretty girl takes her clothes off" but give it a try. I promise I'll be the most relaxing therapist you ever saw. You'll be surprised just how relaxing this therapy session is from the beginning to the very end. Mostly soft-spoken and semi-realistic, it features wonderful writing and paper sounds as well as a complementary cup of tea for your enjoyment. Have you ever listened to the sound of finely shredded tea cascading inside the bag? It's magical. After a several minute long introduction, my slow, soothing, binaural counting down from 100 is sure to make you fall asleep. And if it doesn't, it'll make you feel very relaxed and non-resistant to my suggestions.

The affirmations I picked for you are all about living your best life - a topic I am currently exploring - and while it's a vague topic to wrap your mind around, I think it's universally needed and everyone can benefit from this. Since we are entering the roaring 20's of our lifetime, I want you to really thrive and shine and expand into something better than you ever thought you could be. This starts with self-care, with feeling at ease inside yourself. With managing your time to suit your needs and having the motivation to really live. This video is designed to help with all that. Listen to this before going to bed or play this while you're sleeping and feel the positive impact of my intentions for rewiring your brain to give you a better, more fulfilling life. Even if you're tempted to dismiss it thinking it's just placebo - feel free to judge the tree by its fruit. As long as you come out of this with an improved baseline mood, it was worth my while.

I don't know if you can tell that I recorded this over 4 separate sessions. With audio-only it's rather easy to cover up. It was not easy to get enough consecutive quiet time to make this happen with several neighbors blasting their TVs at different times of the night. People need to kindly just fucking go to sleep and let me do my job. One of the recordings involved setting up a blanket fort to try and buffer out all the TV noise and another one was just me re-recording the countdown from 100 because even though I listened to myself through headphones while recording, so many popping noises slipped by me in real time. I was naive and tried to do this without a wind shield. The sound is better without it, but also I can't breathe within like three feet of the thing lest you all be getting your ears raped by mic pops. A lot of it was reduced to a mostly undetectable volume with heavy editing, but the parts I couldn't save, I ended up re-recording. I strung them together as seamlessly as possible so hopefully you will find the experience smooth and non-disruptive.

The entire thing was pretty much improvised and I like how audio-only gives you so much room to play around with how you want to say things. This is how I ended up with 4.5 hours of raw footage before I chopped it down 1.25 hours of coherent storyline. I adjusted the spacing (time between sentences) to a tempo that works for me and I hope the slow and relaxed tempo is acceptable for you. They say we automatically match our breathing to the person we're listening to. I try to use that to help you slow down after a hectic day.

I sincerely hope this video will serve in getting you to sleep for many nights to come.

Happy 2020

"And if it doesn't, it'll make you feel very relaxed and non-resistant to my suggestions." There are very, very, few people I would entrust with that power, you know... and, despite the amusement in your voice about the joys of tampering with the information in my brain, I still can't help but believe your intentions are positive, despite being recorded at a time when the desire to dismember a neighbor may or may not have nearly prevailed...
