Meant to post this earlier, but realized I forgot to amplify the sound in my video software so I had to render it again. For your listening comfort, I added 10dB in this fixed version. Somehow, I feel like a system update always ruins my speakers because when I first reset it, the audio is actually decently loud... But at some point it just turns into banana jelly and it's hard to hear anything with all the settings maxed out. This is why I like to amplify the sound until I can comfortably listen with my laptop next to my bed to ensure that everyone can hear my videos on any device. Random piece of trivia.
So this video was fun to make. I could really get behind this being me in videos thing. It's kinda nice to shake off the ASMRtist "role" and be allowed to be sassy, silly, spunky, funny, etc... Even though you can't really see any of the clothing, let's just pretend you're near-sighted because this lens sure is, I particularly like the fabric sounds. I did my best to create some dimension in the soundscape by walking around freely, aswell as divide up some triggers and place them on two distinct sides - Unboxing and crinkles to the left, fabric sounds to the right. Complementary binaural fizzy cider. Let me know what you think.
Of course, I kinda went into a crisis editing this video because I made one mistake - I used the wrong term for what I'm explaining twice and had to correct it in text and I feel like the text ruined the video. You might not feel like that's a huge deal and reasonably so, but I am mortified. Times like these just really make me aware of how much... perfection... I expect of myself. For a moment I really had to think about whether it was worth finishing the video. I decided that the overall package is still worth publishing, obviously, because you're seeing this... What's the winning argument, you ask? What ended up convincing me that this quirky video is still worth sharing? What was the deciding factor? Truly, a deep and meaningful question. The answer is...
Because I think I'm funny.
Cheers
