It was more or less the spam of life drain and heal +the super rng of gears tinkering, I had to restart atleast 20 times to get up to 8 stack to defeat him. Other wise it was a decent battle good concept.

Just just rinsed and repeated the healing and when it was gone at the time, it was my time to strike or use defense up.

I ended up save scumming that fight. It relies too much on Gear's tinkering and since his drain attack goes around Grizz and heals him it was impossible to deal enough damage to him since only gear can attack every turn

GrayMech

yeah the fight was just a bit too hard, i found myself trying it again and again just hoping to get lucky with procks and him not healing much, i would say the main problem is that he heals too much too often, other than that the fight would be just enough of a challenge

I agree with graymech on this one. Even with extensive turn based RPG experience I had to fight the bastard like 10 times to finally beat him. I don't mind his damage and the overall fight was cool with the lion stepping in to join as healer BUT that damn death seeker heals so often XD you'd think he was a paladin with that tanky dps self healing lol. Most of the fight was spent alternating between healing, blocking and using the zapper to try and not die then praying Rein has enough time to shoot lol fun fight just a bit crazy hard for the first real boss XD

I didn't vote, but I got pretty frustrated with it myself. It would have been helpful to have some sort of hint that Gear's tinkering was the solution. I actually ended up beating him by zapping him and interrupting his attacks repeatedly lol, but before then I'd lost so many times I had to come back to it a day later. Just felt pretty rough for a porn game. I suppose more hints would have helped?

I would have found a "wait" option helpful, actually. I noticed that if the Death Seeker drains every turn, then I literally cannot damage faster than it heals. But also that it only drains every turn when it's below half health. So the strategy would be to keep it above half health until Gear finishes tinkering... except that you can't not do damage. So I ended up deliberately getting no love with Grizz just so I could waste an action on Shield more often, and that seemed to work.

This type of thinking warms my soul. Thanks, I needed this today :3 Also, I'll definitely look into a 'pass' option for the new combat system.
