i'll be honest i much prefer the old design, he looks really masculine while still being soft enough that you can make him seem really sad if needed

Yeah, this isn't the the sprite that's making it into the game. I've reworked it several times since posting this and debated deleting the post. I'll post the the new one when I'm pretty sure it's what's going in (probably post sketch work on my twitter for feedback first).
