"The hut is fifteen feet on a side and packed with old furniture, including a wooden cot, a wicker cabinet, a slender wardrobe, a wooden table, a stool, a barrel-topped wooden chest reinforced with brass bands, and an iron tub stained with blood. In the middle of the room is a ghastly wooden crib with a small, angelic child sitting in it. All the furnishings except for the crib are bolted to the floor. Beneath the crib, green light seeps up through cracks between the rotting floorboards."

You'll find the static png versions of the hut, including a roof and a hollowed-out skull of a giant. The upside-down skull that floats next to the hut is a hill giant’s skull that Baba Lysaga has hollowed out and transformed into a vehicle.

The animation and the story in the shared folder can be opened with the free, trial version of the Dynamic Dungeons Editor.  After decompressing the story, you can open it from anywhere on your computer, or you can copy the folder to the "/stories" directory (Users/yourusername/DynamicDungeons/Player/stories by default) so it will show up when you click OPEN. (The package.dd file should be opened with the Editor)

The story already comes with the hut animation and a 40gridded example background video. (40grid means that the video is optimized for a 40” display.) Try experimenting with the color filters, so you can add a different feel to the props and the scene.

I'm having the same problems as the commenters above. I'm also on a Mac, so I'm not sure if that's part of the issue. Should we just consider this project deprecated?

Wonderful! Please continue with the CoS content which is wonderful for immersive online sessions. I'm in vallaki right now and will have dinner with strahd at the castle soon :). One query, apart from the maps, do you have a Patreon for animated tokens? I'm really looking but I can't find something that is at the same level of quality as your maps. One last question/suggestion, did you analyze the possibility of adding to the battle maps images of the scenes for "the theater of dreams"? I'm using in my games more that kind of images than the battleMaps. Best!

Fantastic work! Apologies if this has been asked before (haven't bit the bullet to test drive the Dynamic Editor yet). Is there a way in the editor to save the hut token in a format (.webm) that would let me drop it into Foundry as an animated token?

Anonymous

Great work. It enhanced the Dynamic Editor so much, when we get more animated tokens. Exactly what i'm looking for!!! Thanks!

dynamicdungeons

No, but I'm ready to share the frames of it. I would be happy if someone could reach out to me in pm and help to convert the png sequence into WEBM.

When I try to unpack the file "Creeping_Hut.animation", I get an error message asking for a password since the file is encrypted. May I know how to proceed?

dynamicdungeons

Google drive - for some reason - treats these animation and particle files as password protected archives. Use this code if you have this problem: 4CFFF98559EE3D97495C78092EC860150F5046892F71A8DED1499DA2A5A57AA8 I try to fix this, though.

Am I able to "attach" or lock the roof and the hut to each other for movement or until I am prepared to reveal the interior? or will they only move independently?

Anonymous

you can group them in the dynamic dungeon editor by using CTRL + G

Thank you for the freebie! I've been supporting Dynamic Dungeons for almost two years. Your work is amazing! Because of Covid, my players have had to stop meeting in person and we now use Foundry VTT. Is there any way the animated hut can be available as an animated gif or webm?

dynamicdungeons

Hi, Gif would not look good, but I'm ready to convert it to WebM, but only could do that with a black background. If someone can help me out, how to export it with transparency, I'll add it to this post.

https://www.reddit.com/r/GIMP/comments/3dgbyf/make_highquality_gifs_in_gimp_skip_the_dithering/ How about using the program called GIMP?? I found a link, that basically let’s one create an avi file and then convert into webm. GIMP allow creating images without background. I don’t know if this method works because I didn’t try it out

Is anyone else getting a "Please enter the password for the Creeping_Hut.animation.zip" file?

dynamicdungeons

Google drive treats these particle files as password protected archives. use this code if you have this problem: 4CFFF98559EE3D97495C78092EC860150F5046892F71A8DED1499DA2A5A57AA8 I try to fix this, though.

Did this ever happen? Trying to use this in FoundryVTT myself and not sure how. Edit: Nevermind...I cannot even download the animation or zip file. I am getting an error stating "download quota exceeded for this file".

Just bought the editor specifically for this hut (we're playing CoS), but I can't for the life of me get it to work. First off, I can't find any "stories" folder, no matter where I look. Second, the file is a "DD"-file, not a "DDstory"-file which the editor requests. When I try to open the file (by renaming it), it just comes up and says "corrupted save". Any help?

Hello, I have the same problem and I haven't found a solution so far. Any ideas ?

ShirAhn

I know its been a few months, but I think the .dd file is corrupted because of tool has been updated a few times and the sample is not. A bit sloppy, but the tutorial also in the zip actually shows you how to manually add it. And you can still use it just fine.
