I think you were right the first time. It was "Hey, Ben. Eat my fist!"

Patrick - Excelsior

Teal'c taking the initiative to get the Yu forces back on track. He's come a log way from the guy that only raised eyebrow and said "Indeed". Yeah, the whole amnesia thing didn't really do much. Writers could have just had ancients erase all the knowledge they gave him but then again, they left him naked physically so why not mentally too. That Kelownan leader was a dick, good riddance. Anubis just got teabaggeb by Baal. 😂 Jonas Quinn, the seat warmer. lol I guess the budget wasn't there for 2 ancient lore dudes. Michael Shanks did not initially plan on returning to show but he was able to reconcile his differences with the producers. So Jonas was suppose to be permanent replacement but when Shanks returned ... As for why Jonas told Daniel to "Feed my fish.". I looked up online why he said that and the only answer I can find is so they wouldn't starve. (smh) I was looking for something a little deeper.

The story I heard from the audio commentaries & special features & such was that when Michal Shanks came back the 1st time in season 6 his reaction was "I missed this" after his 2 other appearances as Daniel he made the choice to come back. From what I heard he got more money, less shooting days & was allowed to give creative input on Daniel's character going forward Much like with season 5, they were expecting the show to end after season 6 & they would make some movies, but Syfy offered them another season. While he's his own character, Jonas was designed to fill in Daniel's role so they thought it would be redundant to have both around with the same skill set, or they'd have to constantly sideline one of them which they thought would be unfair, so they decided to give Jonas a happy ending at least that he got to return home as a hero. I've heard that Corin Nemec was gracious about it despite getting shafted & held no ill will against Shanks or the producers

Jonas: “Hey Daniel! Feed my Fish.”

catwhowalksbyhimself

I stand corrected. She didn't seem to realize that, though.

I didn't tell her I changed the intro for 7x01 & 7x02. I like to keep her on her toes. I go out of my way to make sure she's safe. So every intro that can be spoilery from here to Universe has been re-edited to make sure of that. And I've also thrown in some shannanigans along the way but we'll get to that.

Daniel

Nope. There was no mistake on your end, the episode just simply wasn't meant to be entirely centred around the amnesia plot. That's why half way through the first episode we had moved on to dealing with Anubis' new superweapon as he was still dominating all the remaining System Lords and, as it has been stated in the past, one all powerful System Lord is worse than a whole bunch of System Lords fighting each other. So in an extremely rare event, the SGC, The Tok'ra and the System Lords' Ba'al and Yu team up to help take down Anubis. Unfortunately it looks like he escaped but at least his new superweapon was destroyed. While the amnesia plot wasn't essential to the story, wiping Daniel's memory of any knowledge he acquired as an ascended being absolutely was. As we can see with Anubis just how powerful you can become when you have access to such knowledge. However, if Teal'c is right about Oma wanting Daniel to regain his memories one day then she might be trying to indirectly help without the others knowing. This would explain why Daniel has retained the ability to read Ancient demonstrated by the fact he was able to read the ancient tablet about the lost city. During the group meeting at the SGC when the plan was being explained, the Tok'ra woman said Anubis protects his computer systems with ciphers coded in the oldest known Ancient dialect. Other than Anubis, not many people would understand or be able to translate Ancient let alone an old dialect of it. Luckily for us, we have a former Ascended being who somehow retained the ability to read and understand Ancient. This is why Daniel was needed in the mission despite his memory not being fully restored yet.

2023-03-05 08:29:09 On Jonas leaving, I think my issue with it was that it wasn't made clear, story wise, why he was leaving exactly? So the vibe kinda came across as "well you joined the team to replace Daniel and now that he's back....well.....awkward" A much better exit, in my opinion, would have been a scene between Jonas and that female Ambassador just after Jonas had helped safe his world from an attack by Anubis. In the scene the Ambassador would try to convince Jonas to return back to his world, explaining to him just how much they need him and how wrong they were to consider him a traitor. It would have been a beautiful contrast from the way he left his world; stealing Naquadria and leaving as a traitor but returning as a hero with all the knowledge and experience he has acquired throughout his one year with SG-1. I know this was essentially said at the gate room but that wasn't good enough for me. At that point he was already leaving so whatever the Ambassador said didn't feel as special. I needed a dedicated scene just between them beforehand where some convincing was being done. As to whether Jonas would be convinced to return, I believe he would be. Ultimately that is his world and he just couldn't return because he was considered a traitor so he decided to join SG-1 to help his world in a different way; by joining the fight against the Goa'uld. Now that he's allowed to return and his people need him, it makes sense for him to return. This is very similar to Teal'c's situation. He only joined SG-1 to help free his people from the Goa'uld. At the end of the day, he considers Chulak his real home. In fact, last season when Teal'c was talking to Jonas, he told him that while he understands earth culture more now, it is still not his real home and that after his time with SG-1 is done, he plans to return to Chulak with his son.

1. You: "Sometimes people say you don't say anything and sometimes they say you say too much" ...Interpretive dance maybe? I'll subtitle it in edit ...(maybe that'll shut them up.. Exaggerated BIG. wink) 2. As someone who has watched the entire verse several times over... Hearing you say "That episode WAS. stupid" after I pointed it out in my note already ...Or even IF. I'd think it'd a good one ....We all have our opinions Froots... And I don't think Gaters are particularly toxic ...There's some fanbases to other sci-fi shows that prooooobably would tell you off for saying anything bad about their show though 3. It's funny that you decided not to look at the intro for 7x01 and 7x02 ...I re-edited those and put the intros for Season 6 in there ..No worries Froot.. I got you.. I've prepped all the way into Universe which we're not getting to till 2025.. Nothing but the best ...But also I checked the Season 7 intro.. They added some shots of 6x22 in there.. A close-up of Daniel pulling off the Zoolander Magnum look and maaaaybe a new shot of SG-1 going through the gate ...You're safe though.. Enjoy 4. Soooooo it's not a lost city... It's a city that was made to be lost ...Daniel said something about The Ancients hiding it and erasing all mention of it from history ...But where did they hide it???? Find out next time... On Dragonball Z! 5. Yeeeeeeaaah... Oma could've just dropped Daniel off on Earth but then we wouldn't have this awesome amnesia 2-parter where SG-1 finds him and brings him home /sarcasm 6. Villager: "He is Jaffa" O'neill: "No.. But he plays one on TV" ...I've heard 2 stories about this... One is that this line almost didn't make it into the episode.. One of the producers thought it was TOO. 4th wall breaking ....But they kept it in regardless and it became a bit of a fan favourite line ...I've also heard the story of it being RDA who ad-libbed it ...IF true that might be why we can see Sam's reaction to it is that she's trying not to laugh as maybe Amanda didn't see it coming 7. The writer to 7x01 did some research... The villagers called Daniel "Arom" which they said meant "Naked one" ....Arom IS. Hebrew for "naked" ...I like how the writers of Stargate use old Earth languages like that to make up their alien languages ....Ancient for instance is somewhat similar to Latin sometimes... However considering The Ancients lived on Earth LONG before we did it predates Latin by a LOT. of course ...Having old Earth languages and these alien languages kinda match in sometimes obvious and sometimes subtle ways adds to the whole "We all originated on Earth" backstory though ....Points to Stargate writers going EXTRA. 8. It's kind of a dick move by Oma and also an odd writing move to have Daniel come back with amnesia and then have him remember so fast ...What was the point?? Remember when O'neill got the knowledge of The Ancients in his head and the Asgard took it out but left his memories intact? ....Why didn't The Ancients just do that? Oh that's right... So this amnesia story could happen 9. HA! Jack: "Did I mention you owe me 50 bucks" ...Sounds like the kinda shit I'd say to a person with amnesia 10. I think the FIRST. time Daniel called Jack "Jim" was him legit just not knowing... I choose to believe however the 2nd time he called him Jim was just to mess with Jack ...I think it's just a bit of the humour between the 2 of them ...Which to me was just another indication his memories were kinda coming back 11. Yeeeeaaah... An all-knowing "god" has a human with amnesia loose on-board his ship and doesn't know where he's hiding ....And these Jaffa follow him why?? ...Probably out of fear though ...added later... And before someone says he's using some sort of Tok'ra isotope to mask his signature... Yes... Sure... Cause that would fool a "god" ...The Jaffa can be real stupid sometimes 12. Little bit of a fuckup in the VFX in 7x02... When Carter and O'neill travel to Kelowna.. The 2 ministers standing at the DHD are semi-transparent for some reason ..You can see part of the DHD through one of them and part of the steps towards the gate through the other ...added later... Another fuckup is when Jonas and Daniel ring into the warehouse.. The ring platform seems to be fixed INTO the warehouse surface cause when activated you can see the ground open up ....Why would the Kelownans have installed a ring platform if they didn't even know what it was nor how to operate it? 13. Risky move to jump through a malfunctioning forcefield... That thing was going on an off so fast it could've sliced Jonas into pieces while jumping through 14. True... There's no rule that says an SG team NEEDS to be 4 people.. Jonas could've stayed ..I'm not sure why they wrote him out ..He could have still been just as helpful ...Maybe real world wise it was a budget thing.. Too many main cast members 15. Eeeeehmmm... Froots... You dum dum... The Jaffa Prime Dude went through the stargate ON. Kelowna... Anubis's ship got destroyed ABOVE. Kelowna... 7 seasons and you SHOULD know you can't use the gate to connect to another gate on the same planet ...You: "Does that mean he just went to the ship that just got destroyed?" ...You had another attack of the stupid didn't ya? Ya goof! 16. Jonas: "Hey Ben... Eat my fist?" ...Yup.. That's now becoming canon... I'mma subtitle that shit into the edit 17. Obviously though it was "Hey Daniel.. Feed my fish" BUT.. Why the fuck wouldn't he just take his fish with him??? Jonas is a bit of a dick there... Saddling Daniel up with some fish... Who does that shit?! I guess Jonas didn't give a shit about his pet fish ....Little shit probably didn't even have a name
