I'm so tempted to watch it..... Its the full one too. I wonder how long it is. (Pause)

"So keep your queen warm." That's it John, keep your auntie warm.

CaptainNice

Does this mean there will soon be a Jon on Dragon Pop?

MittenCrab

Shan's dad has to be the greatest off-screen character since Maris from Frasier.

Zoot!

Great reaction! Watched the actual episode first, and then your reaction right after. I love this kind of episode - not a lot of action, but tons of stuff happened. Sam part was the sadest - amazing acting on his part. Ahhhh is it next week yet?

In the books the Golden Company does have several war elephants, so like Cersei I was also disappointed that there were none. Also I noticed the Umber boy’s eyes open while Tormund was talking so I was freaked out before the screaming. This was a great way to start the season!

Hannibal Lecter

Solid episode, setting up all all the pieces for what's to come. Will John tell everyone the truth about himself? How will the northerners take it? Will Dany give up her claim to the throne?

Good episode, I never thought in S1 I would be team Sansa by the end of the show, but here I am. My biggest fan theory won't happen, I think. So if the throne survives I hope Sansa sits on it.

Bisibia

Totally. I wouldn't have even wanted much action as this is the first time we're seeing many of these characters interact. It's like the Avengers assembling for the first time. Story and dialogue... then action.

Sean Ornelas-Linter

The Northerners, like the free folk, would rather die than bow to a king or queen that’s not their own, it’s kinda funny that Jon all of a sudden forgot that, and it’s unrealistic that more lords didn’t choose to stay in their own keep.

i'll watch through your reactions, decent episode, hey but i object to Dickon being called shit ;) he was quite honorable and a mistake that will bite Dani in the ass i think

Magically-Delicious

That was an episode and reaction well worth waiting for. Roll on next week!

Jon Dub

I did wonder at the end of season 7 when Cersei said the Golden Company had elephants, "How in the hell are they going to ship elephants over on a sailboat?" They are far too large and heavy to ship over on a sail ship, even if the boat could take their weight, I doubt a scared elephant on a ship would be a smart move, if it got spooked it could tear the ship apart

A great start to the final season, and your reaction was fantastic! They're doing a good job of keeping some kind of balance between "Team Dany / Jon / foreigners" vs "Team Sansa / The North." Both have good motives for the most part and reasonable arguments. However, I think Dany is just slightly in the wrong. She could have kept up her pursuit of the Iron Throne, but allowed The North to be independent or semi-independent with Jon as King, at least for the time being. Jon compromised first, but Dany could have done so just as easily ... more easily since nobody in her camp would have objected to her making a compromise with Jon and The North. Jon is more democratically chosen, so he has people to answer to in a way Dany doesn't really. I mean the Unsullied and Dothraki don't much care if it's Seven or Six kingdoms she captures. Still, there's room for workable compromises for everyone going forward.

Danny compromised first. She said shed March with him and then he said thank you Danny and then pledged himself to her.

ThatGuy11200

Hannibal took 38 elephants across the sea from Africa to Europe during his war with Rome. So it's possible.

Solid opener to the final season. It set a lot of the storylines for season 8 in motion and I loved all the little reunions and nods to season 1.

Jimmy Brown

I enjoyed this first episode and the reaction but I was distracted by that cool Ghost Rider Pop Vinyl in the background. :)

Brandon Wiesner

Well the opener had to be like this. Considering how long it's been since the last season and how much is going to happen at the end, there had to be a lot of setup. It was definitely a good ep though. It felt really short for an hour.

Sansa shit me once again 😂

Timotey Kuhn

(before watching) Yayyyyyyyy!!! I can finally watch this now!!! I couyldn't watch this before now as I was engaged to watch this only with my GOT watching buddy, and it would have been a true betrayal to watch this without him first. But now that I've seen all 4 episodes so far, I can finally watch this!! :D

Who else furiously air cello plays along with the theme song besides me? :D

Every time that Daenerys wants to make a move on Jon for "fun times"....Jon should just shoot back this...
