Serenity *is* the name of their ship. ;)

Glad you are enjoying the show, but after "Frontierland" (SPN) reaction I realized it's unlikely that you'll become a Browncoat (Firefly fan), since you dislike "Western" genre and Joss Whedon created Firefly to be a western in space. Still, it's a pleasure watching you react.

Beauty Effulgent

Well, not necessarily, I hate Westerns too. And not because I'm not familiar with the genre. I grew up watching a lot of Gunsmoke and Clint Eastwood movies because my parents love Westerns. But still, I adore Firefly. It's not the genre that makes the show interesting. It's the excellent character work and great storytelling. Also Firefly wasn't love at first episode for me like it is for most Browncoats. I didn't become hooked until the episode Ariel. Give her some time, she may come around :)

Inara's expression at the end is so funny

CaptainNice

Yep, "Chair" from the recently watched pilot, a theme? Weird. Except for not having River, this is a pretty fun one.

Here we go! Favourite shows, favourite coffee, favourite Shan... Sometimes life just smiles at you for a while :)

Emma goldsbrough

Great reaction. Only saw River for a second and that's about it.

This is one of my favorite episodes. The way Inara has to be angry at Mal at the beginning for upsetting "saffron" but also inwardly happy that she's upset and that Mal is so seriously troubled and against it. And the writing. I loved Jayne's "I call her Vera" as well as Mal's "well my days of not taking you seriously are definitely coming to a middle." I don't think that line had ever been uttered before Joss wrote those words down.

Ashgar77

The cast's chemistry on this episode was so good. They played off each other so well in this.

James Miller

Such a crime this show didn't get several seasons. It's a gem.

Zoot!

I loved the epic Shan facepalm at the end. Thanks for that! :)

UTU49

This is one of my favourite eps. On rewatch it's funny to notice how many of the early scenes have Zoe laughing in the background.

Dennis Bryant

Yes, I still love the line about days of taking you seriously..... I love the wittiness of the dialog in this show, but the Whedon shows shows are all like that. I love rewatching this show for all the little things that show up, facial expressions and things that you didn't see, or how there are thre or four things happening, and you have to watch it enough to really see it all, it is great!

Aes86

Yeah, If you ever saw Arrested Development I always think of one of the running gags, when someone gets away with something and they should ave been busted. "Well, that was a freebie." Besides her amazement at Mal's stupidity in the moment, I always picture her saying that in her head.

Brandon Wiesner

Christina Hendricks, such a beautiful, talented actress.

Melazond

Just so fun! I feel like this was when the show really got its sea legs.

Ron Fehr

Couldn't stop laughing through the first half of the episode. Loved Mal's uncomfortableness. Also, Shan, loved your embarrassed (?) look during the scene in Mal's quarters. By the way, Alan Tudyk's character is named Wash (pretty sure it's a nickname).

Ron Fehr

I think that Mal actually knew the truth, that Inara kissed him. But he wanted to make her look bad. So by saying that she let Saffron kiss her, I think he was accusing her of falling for Saffron's act. And Inara, not wanting to admit that she actually kissed Mal, couldn't reply without revealing that.
