So some behind the scenes knowledge on why Shane had to die ....I always assumed it was cause the actor probably got the role as the Punisher (Since that's probably the only 2 things I know the guy of.. That and one movie)... Not possible though since there's a several year gap between Shane's death on this show and the appearance of his character on Staredevil... Apparently it was show creator Robert Kirkman who said that he had planned Shane’s death before the series even began ...Frank Darabont (executive producer / guy who got fired) always talked about how if the first season had been 13 episodes they would’ve went ahead and told the entire Shane story and killed him off at the end of the season which apparently was pretty much what they did in the comics but because that was a 6 episode season instead of a normal sized season they decided to hold it for Season 2 8. Aaaaand in comes the horde ...Looks like we're either gonna have to defend the farm or get the fuck outta dodge
