Neither of us can remember who or what this murder ballad was about other than an anonymous murderer we vaguely remember researching from 1912 during our song school days.  If we can recollect our memories one day we will keep you apprised. This song is one of 8 Ballads on our "Ballads & Heartstrings" Album. We wrote this around the same time we were super into singing "knoxville girl" and "little sadie" and of course "little maggie" .....also "flora (The Lily of the West)"  All good murder ballads. The purpose of a Murder Ballad is to tell a story to the people.
