You refuse to do as Myla commands. You say that you can't just go about harming innocent townspeople like this. And certainly not just because he annoys her.

"I guess you really are a good person then. That's nice, I guess." However, with that, she shakes her head. "But at the same time, it would be nicer if you would trust me to not make stupid decisions." You ask her what she means and she pulls out a piece of paper, handing it over to you. "I caught Jates with this as he was heading out to the town gate. It's a letter. Now I never did learn to read very well, and if I did read it wrong, then we don't have a problem." You take the letter from her. "Though I think I got the general idea, and if I'm right, then we have a big problem."

The letter is addressed to someone named Nysk.

'Konic is dead. Heard the bounty got turned in today. It had to be Myla and that traveller. They had Konic's jacket and axe. I thought it might have just been some sort of coincidence, but there's no doubt to me now. I'll give you a signal when they leave town.'

It isn't signed, but if Jates did have it with him, then he would be the most likely suspect.

"So?" Myla looks at you. "Did I read it right?" You confirm that it does sound like they were planning an ambush of some sort. "Alright. So then, Jates here isn't just some innocent innkeeper." You ask who Nysk is. "One of Konic's buddies. If they find out, we'll be screwed. They don't play nice."

You ask Myla why she didn't just show you the letter in the first place. "Cause I thought I wouldn't have to." She sounds a little annoyed. "I had hoped you had at least a little faith in me. Did you really think I'd do something like this just cause some asshole annoys me?" She stops and thinks for a moment. "Well, okay. I might. But I wouldn't ask you to do it. Anyway, I'm not taking any risks. He's still not leaving this room. It's up to you whether you join him or not. Now how do you want to do this? You could take care of him. Though I think I have enough room for the runt. Your choice. Unless you got some sort of better idea."

Looking at Jates, he's obviously scared. Do you trust Myla?
