v0.12 Roundup (Patreon)

Did you find the secret character?
So, there ended up being three big surprises this update! Since I had to keep them a secret up until now, I want to go over them a bit here now that they've been released. Also, it's actually a complete coincidence so much ended up being hidden this time. In general, I'll keep doing previews as usual.
First off, I'd like to officially welcome Antares to the team! They will be in charge of designing and modeling new 3D assets for the battles and base system, and have already done some fantastic work on both. If you've been to the discord, you may recognize them from the high-quality modded units they've already made for the game, Adder, Netcaster, and Kvevri. If you haven't yet, give them a look!
Next up, we have Atlas-Agena! This is the second unit designed by VT's lead artist TeeradonSs, and holy shit did he knock it out of the park. The original concept for her has actually been floating around since just a bit after the game released, so I'm so glad we finally got the chance to put her in the game. We thought it would be fun to take people completely off-guard with her, and so not only was she not previewed, the only way to get her in this update is to pull her from the gacha.
Finally, Covenant received a new Halloween outfit! Last Halloween, I planned on making a Halloween outfit for Covenant, but things didn't quite line up so I ended up having to push it to this year instead. Like with Schrodinger, I think it's more fun if seasonal outfits are a surprise for the player, so she also had to be kept secret, of course. As her ghoul design is pretty far from her usual one, we also made sure to add a version without makeup that people who aren't so into the zombie aesthetic may enjoy more.
Alpha Checklist
Now that v0.12 has been released, let's take a look at the Alpha checklist and see where we're at:
Add base system to lobby with at least one facility units can be assigned to. (This is currently underway, passive vore has been implemented, Dyson's design is mostly finished, and the base is being designed and modeled.)
Add monster girl resurrection NPC. (Unit has been designed.)
Add in stomach system that allows for any vore type. (System is mostly finished, unique skills and digestion have yet to be added.)
Fix mod load times and memory issues. (Complete)
Add in mid-battle saves. (Work has been started on this.)
Rework battles to be phase-based instead of turn-based. (N/A)
Move AI and input processing into a centralized script rather than one unique per unit. (N/A)

Add different movement types. (N/A)
Flesh out tile height system and add UI height indicators. (N/A)

Add campaign and story progression. (N/A)
Add fetish toggles. (N/A)
Come up with and implement some form of unit stat/skill customization for better player personalization. An equipment system? (N/A)
Add better graphics settings; remove jank when clicking off window. (N/A)
NO bugs that may negatively affect player experience. (Bugs Added.)
...Yeah, there's still a lot left. Fortunately a lot of these are pretty small, but there are some that could easily take several weeks or months, like rewriting the old battle turn system.
For the next order of business, I think I'm going to 100% finish the stomach system, fix any bugs, and set up some of the above QoL features. Then, I will take a sledgehammer to my code and start rebuilding the battle turn controller from the ground up. I really can't thank you all enough for sticking around and supporting the game, even when it still has so long to go, so I'm going to do my best build a solid foundation for the game and keep adding content that you enjoy!
