Thank you this is helpful! I have noticed that places like polejunkie sell shorts labeled as unisex, but they never do seem especially unisex. The blog about men's pole wear that I found also suggests you can wear women's pole bottoms with a dance belt, which also seems to not be great advice. Based on visual evidence.

Yeah, you /can/ wear women's shorts with a dance belt, but it's never going to look/feel quite as good as using shorts that are designed for your shape!
