Growling fiercely, Azi Dahaka spoke with determination, "I had a suspicion that you gods were lurking in this city. Consider this a warning... interfere with us, and you shall meet your demise! As for you, Issei Hyoudou... ponder carefully the words I've spoken before challenging us. I doubt you possess even a fraction of the power held by Crom Cruach or Vali, and we compelled both of them to join our cause. You and Vrita will join us, whether you desire it or not."

"I'll be damned if I follow Ophis!" Issei retorted defiantly.

Without uttering another word, the malevolent dragon summoned an infinity symbol over his hand. Swathed in purple and black magic, he vanished shortly after.

"Damn it! He escaped!" Susanoo snarled in frustration, redirecting his anger toward Issei.

Issei glanced at Verethragna and Susanoo, a hint of disdain in his eyes. "I had a feeling some prying eyes were upon me, but I didn't expect you to have the audacity to reveal yourselves."

Susanoo tightened his grip on his sword. "Show some respect, dragon... We are gods!"

To their astonishment, Issei's four wings burst forth from his back. His normally brown eyes transformed into sharp, golden draconic slits. Scales began to materialize along his arms and legs as he unleashed a surge of ominous red magic. Though unusual for him, Issei disregarded his surroundings in Kuoh and focused solely on the imminent confrontation. The golden barrier surrounding them seemed to isolate them from the rest of the city.

Silent and determined, Issei inhaled deeply. Unfazed by Verethragna raising his shield to block the impending dragon breath, both gods were taken aback when they witnessed a portal materialize in front of Issei, just as the breath left his mouth.

In a mere fraction of a second, four additional portals materialized around Issei and his adversaries. Unleashing a torrent of apocalyptic red flames, the portals engulfed them, their intense heat damaging their armor and leaving them with minor burns.

The transformation taking place within Issei, with a tail emerging from his lower back and horns sprouting from his head, made a profound impact. His voice resonated with a dark edge as he uttered, "You'll regret ever picking a fight with me!"

With burning fury propelling him forward, Issei launched into a merciless assault, unleashing brutal strikes upon both warriors. Verethragna was sent sprawling to the ground, while Susanoo found his sword caught in Issei's grip and his throat captured by a vice-like hand. Issei squeezed with all his might, causing the god to writhe in agony and drop to his knees.

"You'll live to rue the day you dared to cross my path!" Issei hissed, a surge of ominous red power emanating from his hand.

However, before Issei could deliver the final blow to Susanoo, Verethragna transformed back into a massive golden boar and charged toward him.

In the midst of the charge, a portal materialized above Verethragna's head. Chains descended from the portal, their spiked ends cruelly impaling the god's boar form. Seizing the opportunity, Issei swung Susanoo by the neck, hurtling both gods through a nearby building. They took their time to recover and emerged from the wreckage, while Issei slowly advanced toward them.

"He possesses formidable power... far greater than I anticipated," Verethragna acknowledged the obvious.

Before either side could make another move, an owl swooped in between them, transforming into a woman. Issei regarded her with curiosity, finding her appearance both intriguing and foreign. Her complexion was a captivating blend of fair and tan, with flowing brown hair cascading from beneath her helmet.

Her countenance possessed a unique allure, exuding both the grace of a lady and the fierce spirit of a warrior. Her eyes, a striking teal hue, bore a penetrating gaze. Adorned in a short white dress embellished with golden chest and shoulder armor, she carried a golden shield bearing the likeness of a gorgon, fastened to her back with a leather strap. A golden spear accompanied her, and atop her head rested a full-face golden helmet adorned with a majestic red plume, reminiscent of Greek or Roman origins.

Issei immediately recognized the helmet as resembling that of a Spartan, its intricate decorations, including a laurel wreath, teal gems, and other remarkable designs, capturing his attention. Her legs were partially exposed, protected only by two shin guard plates of gold and warrior sandals. Matching bracers adorned her forearms, featuring intricate designs of serpents and owls, much to his surprise.

"Enough! Verethragna, Susanoo... stand down!" Athena commanded.

Issei paused, observing the reluctant compliance of the two gods. Athena then turned her attention to Issei. "We bear you no ill intent, Crimson Nightmare Dragon."

Without uttering a word, Issei simply pivoted on his heels and opened a portal. He was about to step through when Athena called out to him, "Wait! We are not your enemies! This was a misunderstanding..."

Slowly turning to face her, he fixed her with an intense glare. "I didn't misunderstand a damn thing. These two bastards thought they could belittle me. I don't know how many of you gods are watching me in Japan, or what you've heard... but you should mind your own damn business."

"I apologize for the actions of Verethragna and Susanoo, Issei Hyoudou. Please understand that we have no intention of causing you harm. It has become clear to me that you are not an evil dragon, nor are you interested in aligning yourself with Ophis. If you have any questions, I am here to provide answers. I would greatly prefer that we not be enemies," Athena spoke with a diplomatic tone, driving her spear into the ground before approaching Issei.

Verethragna and Susanoo stood motionless and silent, unsure of how to react to the unfolding situation. Issei reluctantly allowed Athena to draw near. When she was within arm's reach, she extended her hand and introduced herself, "I am the Greek Goddess Athena..."

Susanoo glanced at Verethragna, surprise evident on his face. "That's Athena?"

Verethragna nodded in confirmation. "Yes..."
