It's almost Turkey Day time and because I can appreciate anything centered around food, it's time to dig into all the great movies of cinema (and surprisingly, it's not a massive pool?). But these are definitely my faves, so feel free to pop in for a (mostly) light-hearted affair that will definitely make you want to order a lot of food while you watch :)

It's like we'll have a big dinner together!

The stream will take place THIS FRIDAY 11/18

And it will be over on twitch https://www.twitch.tv/filmcrithulk

Onto the line-up! All times are pacific!!! And as always, subject to change.

1100a - pre roll

1115a - Big Night - The movie responsible for elevating Stanley Tucci from character actor to BELOVED character actor (not to mention the fact that he co-wrote and directed this film too with Campbell Scott). This is a murderers row of character actors and in 1996 it really was this fun mini phenomenon.

105p - Soul Food - I think that on all these streams we will end up covering the career of Nia Long and I will endorse this whole-heartedly. This 1997 film is directed by George Tillman Jr. who later went on to produce the Barbershop films!

300p - Eat Drink Man Woman - The film that turned Ang Lee into a sensation and made Emma Thompson think "yeah this dude can definitely direct a Jane Austen story." Get ready for delicious food and emotional complex family dynamics!

505p - The Trip - "Man, I could watch Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon just chat and crack jokes all day!" Well, do we have the movie / tv series for you! These movies are just so much fun and have surprising moments of depth and I just can't wait for any first timers. Get your Michael Caine impersonations ready :)

700p - Ratatouille - It really is just that good. Every little big of detail and understanding and focus comes to fruition. I also think it's one of the great movies about understanding what artistic appreciation is *really* about. I can't wait to watch it again.

855p - Tampopo - The best food film ever. No questions asked. Hilarious. Weird. Earnest. Full of humility and scathing indictments. I adore it. And I know we're already in love with older Ken Watanabe, but get ready to fall in love with young grumpy Ken Watanabe.

1050p - Pig - By far the most modern film of the stream, but no less deserving. This blew my mind last year and I'm ready to get completely emotional again. Get ready for a Nic Cage who is fully locked, loaded, and focused.

1225a - Secret Screening #1 - Silly and fun!

200a - Secret Screening #2 - Unexpectedly Weird!

I’ve been recovering from my GRS for the past couple weeks. So as someone who has to lie in bed for another few days, I’m very excited to have a free schedule to join y’all for the bulk of this marathon.
