Trip down memory lane: The Red Saiyans (Patreon)

Agra's red hair became a story of its own and because I have always been a sucker for stories with prophetic themes it's how the Red Saiyans were made.

Along with Agra, there were three other lady saiyans born before her with red hair. The story was about how four saiyans with "hair like blood" would appear, and that would mark the age of the Super Saiyan. The other three were named Arah, Hinoka and Sarazade. They all through went a lot of changes and development too.

Arah was the first born, then decades later Hinoka and Sarazade were born around the same time. And those two had a rivalry similar to Goku and Vegeta over who was more superior; the elite born with talent or the one who worked hard for it. In their first draft story Sarazade kills Hinoka and marries into Vegeta's family line becoming like his great+ grandmother. Then in 2011-12 I was doing this "Days of Agra" where I was revising old stories and Hinoka became Vegeta's mother and Sarazade became Goku's mom. I figured " Goku's mom will be a mystery forever, so let's play with it"

A year later Akira Toriyama announced a mini manga that introduced Goku's canon mother. GO FIGURE

I thought my "legend" would help waylay anyone who wanted to pull a "UM ACTUALLY saiyans cant have x color hair" but you can't stop idiots. Despite mansplainers and gatekeepers, I am glad I decided to develop them more. At first they were just background characters but the more I worked on their stories the more I enjoyed them as characters. Sarazade became one of my favs.
