Sorry for the sudden silence! I fell behind on my prompts, and worked to keep up with them. And there were other things that happened that kept me busy. All in all, it was a productive October, and I did finish my Spirit Halloween challenge! I posted them all on my instagram but here you'll get the uncropped and full images as well as silly sketches.

So onward with the prompts!

Day 12 and 13: Moonlight and Afraid

"A  few days passed and Geist decided to search again. But this time she  snuck off when the rest of the herd was sleeping in the hopes of  catching this mystery horse by surprise.

And as luck would have  it, when she came across a shallow pond Geist spotted something glowing  on the opposite end. It was him! He was the most beautiful thing she  ever laid eyes on. His coat gleamed in the moonlight and when he lifted  his head, water glittered like stars as he slung his forelock back.

But Geist was the one caught unawares as the other horse snapped abruptly at her “Why have you been following me?”

At  a loss for words, she lowered her head and cast her eyes down. She  didn't realize how inconsiderate this might have been on his end. It  wasn't quite the magical meeting she hoped, and Geist was afraid she  ruined everything."

Day 14 and 15: Found and Overgrown

“After  seeing the look on the mare’s face, Falling Snow realized how harsh he  sounded. He carefully approached her and gave a gentle smile.

‘Well,’ he began. ‘It looks like you found me.’

He  felt a sense of relief when the mare smiled at his joke. Falling Snow  invited her to follow along. It was late and it was safer to return to  her herd in the morning.

Wherever he was leading, Geist took a  chance in trusting him as she followed. And took the chance to speak to  him too. She learned he was part of a herd who sadly died out one rough  winter when he was young. He said his mother’s mother once belonged to  two-foots. They settled one winter and the two leggeds died or vanished,  leaving the horses behind. They did their best to survive but one by  one they also vanished, until he was the only one left.

Geist  asked if he ever went looking for his herd or sought another one. He  admitted he was too scared in his youth and remained at the old two  legged settlement, making it his home. When Geist saw what he meant she  was unfamiliar with the structures. They were strangely shaped and  overgrown with vines and dirt and grass. She was not familiar with how  two leggeds smelled like but whoever lived here before Falling Snow, the  scent was old. It made her sad to think he lived alone for so long.”

Day 16: Colors

“Geist  returned to her family the next day with Falling Snow’s story and home  still fresh in her memory. She realized how lucky she was to have her  father, mother and grandmother. They shared breakfast and lazed through  the midday. Being together was her favorite pastime. She enjoyed how all  their colors looked against one another. Geist took the opportunity to  tell them about Falling Snow, hoping they wouldn't be upset with her.  Their herd gladly took in newcomers, provided they didn't cause trouble.  She heard the stories of how they welcomed her mother. Surely, they  would do the same for Falling Snow?”
