Hey Friends!

It's that time again! Where you ask us a short, direct question in the comments below and one gets chosen to be answered round-robin style in next month's Big Daddy Dispatch! Since it'll be the October BDD, let's try for Spooky ones, but hell, anything is welcome.

Please do sign your question with your name and where you're writing from  as I do below.

Good luck friends!

Is the monster movie genre (I.E Vampires, Mummies, Frankenstein etc) dead? Can these movies make a comeback and be truly scary, or are they too predictable? Would you all rather create a classic monster movie with real scores or reinvent the genre in general? -Julia from Arlington, VA

Have you heard Marcia Lucas' (George's ex-wife and editor of the OG trilogy) on the Disney sequels? Thoughts? Ex: " It seems to me that Kathy Kennedy and J.J. Abrams don’t have a clue about ‘Star Wars.’ They don’t get it." "When I saw that movie where they kill Han Solo, I was furious. I was furious when they killed Han Solo." "“They have Luke disintegrate. They killed Han Solo. They killed Luke Skywalker. And they don’t have Princess Leia anymore. And they’re spitting out movies every year. And they think it’s important to appeal to a woman’s audience, so now their main character is this female, who’s supposed to have Jedi powers, but we don’t know how she got Jedi powers, or who she is. It sucks. The storylines are terrible. Just terrible. Awful. You can quote me — ‘J.J. Abrams, Kathy Kennedy — talk to me." Thought was kind of an odd take but not wholly disagreeable. Thanks, Duncan from Oakland, CA

Gentlemen- Geoff Van from Southern California, where all we do is ride dirt bikes from town to town competing in Under 18 Karate Tournaments. In regards to the 2013 documentary Blackfish. Has this informative film changed your take on Jaws 3D and more importantly the relationship between Dennis Quaid and Louis Gosset Jr. Hope your freezing your balls off back east, I’m enjoying the beach waiting for Bob Banquet Beer to get ready to announce another All Valley. I’ve never seen The Prowler, so I looked it up and saw that one of the actors, Thom Bray, was my college professor for a TV writing class at Portland State University (circa 2004).
