Howdy, folks! Hope everyone had a great weekend—perhaps you spent some time checking out the replay of our fun-as-all-get-out SPEED show! If you haven't watched yet, you still have over a week and a half to catch that replay! But as they say in the biz, the show must go on, so let's check out what's dropping in the WHMu this week!

Tomorrow on We Hate Movies, we welcome back our good bud, Jamelle Bouie to help us chat about the year 2000 X-Men movie! It's always great having Jamelle on and this episode was super-fun as we all geeked out over our beloved X-Men. You can hear this episode here on Patreon AD-FREE at the $8 level & up!

Then on Thursday, we're dropping this month's Animation Damnation, and to get in the Deadpool & Wolverine spirit, we're chatting about an episode of the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon that features everyone's favorite fourth-wall-breaking comic character! You can hear this episode right here on Patreon starting at the $3 level & up!

And then finally, on Friday, we're closing out the week with July's edition of our Star Wars side show, the Gleep Glossary! This month, not only are we chatting about our beloved "Conehead Guy" Jedi Master, Ki-Adi-Mundi, but we're also weighing in with our final thoughts on the first season of The Acolyte! You'll be able to hear this one on here at the $8 level & up!

And that's all the pods that will drop this week! Just a reminder that we won't be broadcasting On-Screen Live later today, but be sure to tune in next Monday, July 29th for what will be OSL's summer finale, which will include our review of Deadpool & Wolverine!

So until then, we hope you all have a kick-ass week. Enjoy all the shows dropping over the next few days and we'll see you all next Monday for OSL! As always, thank you all so much for being the kick-ass Patreon supporters that you are. The WHMu Force is strong with you all!

Take it easy,

i vividly remember going to that first x-men film with my friend and his dad.

I've been wondering what's up with the Jedi Conehead since Phantom Menace came out 25 years ago. Truly grateful that you guys are gonna educate me

WHM community, seek out and watch “Oddity” (2024). I highly recommend that horror film.

For me personally, this is probably the L-est movie ever done on the H feed, and also the one I have most memorized, but I'm excited for it! What's the point of loving something if you can't make fun of it a little?? (Unrelated, but Andrew, didn't you have a guy flip out on you at a Q&A because he hated the movie you picked and thought it was some huge moral failing? I just had that happen to me with book club because I set Blood Meridian for July. 🥴 ma'am I don't actually endorse scalping)

Milan

This was borderline Mandela Effect for me cuz I was pretty sure you did X-Men classic already. Now I think it was just all of the Bruce Davidson references throughout the years. So looking forward to it!

That's right, Rose! Yes, a gentleman said I was a "sick fuck" for daring to show people "twisted shit" like Roar Uthaug's 2015 Norwegian disaster drama, THE WAVE. It wound up being deemed acceptable for him to have spoken to me like that because it was discovered he donated $2500 a year to the institution I worked for, and so he was never banned or even spoken to about it. That was when I learned the "your workplace doesn't give a fuck about you" lesson we try to preach on the show! - Andrew

I had a good idea. "Afternoon Specials". Basically solely so they could do the Ben Affleck steroids one. Or just do that one, because it would be elite.

Finally got a chance to listen to the livestream of Speed + the afterparty. always worth it!

Right, yes, The Wave! lol, what a ludicrous overreaction to a not-at-all 'offensive' movie. It's true, neither corporations nor non-profits are your friend. :(
