So happy you’re reacting to this show! Sovergn Uriel the guy who’s in charge and hired them cause he like that they had a bear is voiced by the guy who voices cyborg in teen titans just fyi

You missed David Tennant in the credits. You just watched him in Good Omens. I love David Tennant. He was doing a really thick Scottish accent so it was hard to tell at first. In any case, great reaction. I think you're going to like it. Yes, the show does get dark. In fact, it actually gets darker. There are scenes that are much darker. Even so, the show is a clever mix of over the top comedy, thrilling action, violence, gore and sex. Kinda like the average D&D campaign. Quick D&D note, dragons come in different shades of color. Blue dragons breathe pure lightning which is why hitting it with lightning did absolutely nothing. As soon as that scene hit my husband I both were like "What are you doing?!"

Hope you enjoyed it! Also, you may have noticed that the voice actress for Pike was also the voice actress for Tulip from Infinity Train. And the king is voiced by Cyborg's voice actor.

Awesome reaction! Not sure if you've been told yet, the first two episodes took place before the campaign, and its kind of a prequel to the series. The real meat of the show starts in Episode 3, and that's where the pacing starts to feel a lot better. Can't wait for more!

I'm glad you're liking it so far! Honestly, I was a little surprised to see it doing so well on your poll. Was even more surprised that Good Omens won, but hey! It's a fun show, fantastic animation, high-stakes, at times (like when a family gets slaughtered by a dragon) dark, but also hilarious. -They mentioned a band of mercenaries called the Murder Hobos. This is a term commonly used in D&D for the very basic brand of adventurer. No home. Wander from place to place. Kill enemies. Loot enemies. -The series is based off the Critical Role series, but deviates from the story where necessary. Matt Mercer was the host of the show, so of course he provided voices for the animation. -"Grog's down already?!" might be a nod to the common D&D trope of the party's heavy-hitter rushing into combat and getting taken out right away. Some players tend to just rush in without a plan and rely on the Healer or Support player to clean up after them. Hi. I play a Cleric. I'm not bitter. -Yes! Dungeons & Dragons has Bards. Despite typically being used as a Support class, they're rather popular. For one, they're one of the most effective Support classes. And... *sigh*... It is a common trope in D&D to play the Bard as being... incredibly horny. Look up D&D Bard Memes and you'll get the gist. Some people like to be the comic relief. Others want to bang every fictional character they come across. Scanlan is a little bit of both.

Part of what got me so into Critical Role especially was the nostalgia! A lot of the actors got their start and I grew up with them in their iconic anime voice over roles (FullMetal Alchemist, Fruits Basket, Bleach, etc) so it's fun to hear all these voices again and to see the actors themselves become a found family. VM takes a couple episodes to pick up into the meat of the story but so worth it! The characters continue to get even better as well, hope you continue to enjoy it💖
