And here is another HP crossover, one that delves into the world of Danmachi, as HP-DG-AP-PN-RG-NR requested. Much like MHA although not to the level of that fandom because I like the characters of MHA more, the world of ‘Is It Alright To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon?’ is another universe I would like to get into at some point. I just haven’t found a good enough plot to really put in any work on, and whether or not I want to replace Bell or do as I did in a few other fics and have two male protagonists. Here, I decided to go that route… sort of. Again guys, this is a gift to you all, not a story I will be in a position to follow up on for a very long time.

Dungeon Diving Wizard

The same day that Bell Cranel met his goddess, Hestia, Freya was looking on from the top of her rooms in the tower of Babel. Even from here she could see the souls of those below, their colors muted somewhat with distance but more with proximity. But one stood out, a clear, bright soul, almost like a crystal set among rocks. So much potential, so much fascinating power in such a tiny, untrained soul.

An earthquake of some sort coming from the dungeon interrupts the goddess. She turns her attention to the dungeon for a brief moment, wondering what this earthquake portended... only to discern at the outermost horizon of her senses, something new. Another soul of endless potential, clear as glass, shining just like the white-haired youth’s, only with more power, more tested strength to it. Shock stills her from action for a moment, and her power is then blocked by the magic of the dungeon, rousing itself at her intrusion, leaving the goddess wondering if she had been seeing things.

Deep in the environs of the tenth floor, Harry Potter, Boy Who Lived, natural Legellimens, Trouble Magnet™ and semi-depressed, angry, snarky prankster, stares around at his surroundings in some shock. He had figured out the use of the Vanishing Cabinet a moment ago. Finishing Malfoy’s work on it was easy, thanks to having taken Hermione’s advice and signing up for runes with her starting Third Year. Harry had spent a few minutes snickering at that before remembering that Hermione had been a right dog’s bottom to him this year, when he could have used her support the most. Then, armed with a few goodies from the twins and his own semi-intelligent mucking about, Harry had decided to step through the cabinet to the other side, fully intending to drop off his goodies in, what he had thought, would be Malfoy’s manner. Only to run right into Bellatrix Lestrange.

After a heated battle that brought more Corpse Nibblers, Harry had been forced back into the cabinet, which exploded under many different spells striking it as he stepped back into cabinet. Then there was no sensation followed by far too much sensation all jumbled together.

Now, he finds himself here, his head screaming at him, and what looks like even larger dogs than his former Dog Father. And they are certainly not friendly. But he still has his wand, and after a cutting spell slices through one, decides that questions could come later.  Survival takes precedence now.

I tried to come up with another way to get Harry over into his new world, and figured this was a way to do that. The Vanishing Cabinet is how the Death Eaters get into the castle, thanks to Draco. Here, Harry tried to be far more proactive about stopping them, and is a very different individual than the normal sort. Which very neatly leads into…

Things This Fic Would Contain If I Could Somehow Perform Osmosis and Copy Myself Enough To Get To More Of My Fic Ideas:

1. A somewhat different Harry Potter. This Harry Potter will have started to change in third year, taking his studies more seriously when reminded that his mother was an excellent student and would have wanted him to be as well. From runes to becoming closer to the Terrible Twins and finding some secrets of the Marauder’s Map, the next few years are quite different than in canon.

a. Rune Tinkerer Harry: Harry will not be very good with runes, more a dabbler with some wicked ideas. Most of his ideas will be built around controlled mistakes, so to speak, but he will have a lot of knowledge about different runes, which will make him fit in quite well with the smiths and crafters in his new world. Similarly, Harry’s magical knowledge will be much greater than in canon, both in terms of spells and what he knows.

b. Grumpy Harry, Kind Of: Harry will have generally speaking been brought out of his shell by the Twins and Hermione after Ron abandons him in fourth year. However, he will have several very bad years thanks to Umbridge, the necrophiliacs, Malfoy, Snape, and a certain controlling Headmaster and friends who are more fair weather than he had thought. So he will not be in the best of moods for a while, not until he is chivvied out of it.

c. No Way Home? Okay: After a time, Harry will realize he is nowhere on Earth, not even in Gringotts. And once he realizes that even the local gods/goddesses (an idea he will have issues accepting) he will embrace this new world and new life with joy, knowing there is no way he could be sent back, and deciding to making the best of things.

d. My Brain, My Way: Harry will have learned early on to protect his mind, Snape’s probing into his mind having been just a bit too painful for Harry to ignore after the first few months. Delving into the Mind Magics, he will have discovered he is a natural at it, both in terms of defense and offense. This will have come to the fore a few times, and in this new world will allow him to control the minds of monsters if he concentrates on them.

e. Anti Bully Potter: Harry won’t be the type to go out of his way to look for trouble, since it all too often finds him. However he won’t put up with being mocked to his face, or to see others treated in the same manner. And his magic gives him a lot of different ways to extract a penalty upon any bully.

2. World exploration dungeon style. After his fight to escape the dungeon, Harry will feel called back to it as an Adventurer. Not just because it is a way to make money, but because he is a adrenaline junky, and fighting monsters beats fighting people all hollow.

a. Familia yes/no: For a time Harry will go it alone, unwilling to believe the crazy men and women who call themselves gods, and honestly embarrassed at the very idea of his skills being laid bare for any of them. Eventually however, as he realizes how much knowing his stats could help, and that yes, these people really are gods, he will decide to join a guild. This will involve a lot of back and forth among the various deities who want him. At this time, I think he would join Hestia guild simply because he will have friends there, but I don’t know yet.

b. Catch a Rabbit: Bell and Harry will meet early on in Bell’s adventuring career, and Harry will take the younger boy under his wing in many ways. He won’t make Bell’s decisions for him, and he won’t try to get involved in his love life, but in many other ways, Bell will begin to look up to Harry as something of a role model.

c. Mistakes have been made. Harry will be getting into a lot of trouble, both with the locals and in the dungeon for a time as he gets used to how this new world works. This includes attempting to use transfiguration on the dungeon’s walls (it doesn’t like that AT ALL), trying to bring a pet out of the dungeon, and ignoring the rules of the guild when he thinks they are fucking stupid.

d. Intelligent Monster Sighting: Thanks to his time fighting his way out of the dungeon, Harry will have seen signs of irregular monsters, monsters who are way smarter than they should be. Eventually his further exploration, aided by his magic, will lead him to meeting the smart monsters, and opening dialogue.

3. Who the Gods want, they first tick off, and often vice versa. It will take a good bit to convince Harry that the divinities in this world are real. The fact so few of them do not match in gender to what he learned of the so-called gods in his old world (the wizards simply though they were powerful wizards) also throws him off badly. Loki will be the first victim of this, as she will not enjoy Harry’s comment on the fact Loki should be a man. Nor will Hephaestus look favorably upon such revelations.

a. Apollo Crashlanding. Unable to abide anyone else having Harry under their control after seeing him use a Patronus Charm, Apollo will demand Harry join his Familia. This goes… poorly, and removes the Guild War arc well before it occurred in canon. It also brings out Apollo’s backer/instigator far earlier than it occurred in canon.

b. A trickster’s comeuppance: Unlike Bell in canon, Harry will be fully willing to call even gods out on their bullshit. He’s also not going to be easily led or influenced And while this annoys and beguiles Freya, Harry and Hermes will become practical enemies.

c. Fresh eyes see more: Harry will have a lot of questions and confusions he wants cleared up about the whole dungeon concept. This will let me world build a bit into the past, and will also let Harry poke holes at the Familia concept and the fact it includes absolute obedience to your god.

4. New Skills equals new strengths. Eventually as per agreeing to join one of the Familias who are after him Harry will have his own Falna. A lot of his abilities with magic will carry into it, as will his mind magics, but eventually, like Bell, Harry will build a repertoire of skills and abilities to aid his combat style. He will also see his stats which will allow him to pinpoint the areas he needs the most help in, and what are his strongest traits.

a. Double Casting/New magics: Harry will learn the locals magics for very big booms, but will also keep his own spells, eventually learning to multitask, using his spells in close while preparing a devastating strike in his head.

b. Speed is my friend: Like Bell, Harry will specialize in speed, something his Falna will help with. He will be able to keep his distance, as this Harry will have no skill in close combat beyond the ability to dodge.

5. Romance. Because of course. This Harry will be more upfront with girls (thank you Gred, Forge) but will still be somewhat socially awkward. Instead of Stuttering or retreating back into himself though, this Harry will use comedy, specifically snarky one-liners to cover his apparent lack of experience in social gatherings LOL. He will have had some, but not a lot, and will be very unwilling to chase girls until the girl makes her interest very plain. Which won’t be a problem for several of the ladies who become interested in this version of Harry.

a. Riveria: The princess of the elves will become interested in Harry first as a wounded soul and a fellow caster, but will eventually start to become attracted to him for Harry’s personality and good nature. She will be the first to meet him, but will be one of the last to act on her feelings towards him, only doing so when he in turn shows he’s attracted to his research mate.

b. Tsubaki Colbrande: the captain of the Hephaestus Familia will first be after Harry for his runic knowledge, salivating at what it could mean after seeing the effect of a lightening rune on a weapon. And given her complete lack of body shyness, she will be very handsy and will eventually realize that no, that’s not an awl in his pocket. From which knowledge she will not shirk and in fact be very interested in. their relationship will be a sharp contrast to Riveria’s being mostly a physical one, from which real feelings grow rather than vice versa.

c. Freya: With her desire for Bell to grow, she will decide to look after Harry, trying to get him to join her Familia. In turn, Harry will be astonished to meet a Freya who seems to have only embraced half of her myth, and will have some very pointed questions for her about the effect of her Charm. Something that will make Freya even more interested in Harry. After all, the one thing all goddesses of love wish the most is if their lovers have fallen for them, or just fallen under their charms. People who can throw off such act like catnip to Freya. And after a time, both of them will see beyond their first impressions of one another and Freya’s desires to build an actual relationship, especially when Freya’s Syrious secret comes out.

d. Bell of course will also have a harem.Harry will help him get over the idea that goddesses are untouchable after treating them like crazy girls for several days, and he will be more open to Hestia’s love for him. But he will still hold a torch for Ainz, and of course there’s Lili to consider as well.

Hmm… I am honestly not certain I like the idea of practically an adult Harry in this fic. Him starting younger, maybe building a relationship with Aiz overtime, could be interesting too. Or maybe I’ll go with a young Ranma like I did for the Kuroinu crossover for that kind of thing. Only this time without the Ara Ara… well, unless you count the goddesses… Anyway, I know this is shorter in terms of what the fic would contain than normal, but I still feel it shows how this story would go.

Anyway, hope you all enjoyed this, and sorry ATP fans for my lack of an update there.

ok, so you mentioned possibly a young ranma cross... first thing that comes to mind is the aging mushrooms. maybe move the arc closer to the end of the manga so he has more knowledge of different techniques and styles, but since he is in a child's body is incapable of actually using the techniques when he is first dropped into that world. he would of course be much more powerful than your average child of his apparent age, probably strong enough to take on some of the low level 1 adventurers, but he'd have plenty of room to grow. might be interesting if he never joins a familia but still grows both in power and skill to the point that he is as strong as some of the stronger people with a falna. or if you wanted him to actually join a familia, have him also suffering from the weakness moxibustion, and joining a familia would either outright cure it, or would weaken it significantly enough that over time he could break it.

I used the magic mushroom prior to shifting Ranma into the Making Waves universe. I think i would prefer to use something else. As for never joining a familia, that would bring a LOT of attention and not a lot of it good.

i just have trouble seeing him as a near adult, or near the end of the manga at least, joining a familia easily. hell, i could easily see him being told that it is impossible to get strong enough to go in the dungeon without being part of a familia, and seeing that as a challenge, and so never joins. and remember that in the actual lore of the universe, there were heroes fighting the monsters from the dungeon and even going in the dungeon before the gods came. stories of those heroes inspired bell in the first place. there would definitely be a lot of backlash, a lot of negative attention, but would ranma really care? although, another possibility would be to instead have him end up in the danmachi universe some length of time *after* the end of the manga, and he is much more powerful? maybe to the point he was reincarnated in that universe as a new deity, and he needs to build up a familia of his own and/or prove himself to the other gods somehow?
