Chapter 217: The beginning of the conflicts

Frozen tundra, Vivi's group

"It looks like is not interested in chasing us anymore." Kinemon looked back.

The slime had stopped moving and started to 'spit' parts of itself, sending them ahead of them.

"Seems like it is in a hurry to get somewhere. Splitting itself and throwing its pieces seems to be its preferred form of traveling." Tashigi(Vivi) explained.

"Where do you think is going?" Asked Chopper(Sanji).

"That's the way to the lab, if we follow those pieces of slime, I bet we will end up there." Said Vivi.

"Did you hear that, Mosshead? We just need to follow the slimes. Even you cannot get lost with…" 

He looked to his side and behind them.

"Where did the stupid swordman go?" 

There was no sign of Zoro anywhere.

"Damn it, how long has he been missing?" Asked Tashigi(Vivi).

"Can you find him" Asked Chopper(Sanji).

"No…" She frowned.

"My range is very limited now. He could be anywhere by now

"Anywhere? aren't you exaggerating? He could not have gone too far." Said the samurai. 

"You are truly underestimating the idiots lacking a sense of direction. If he has been lost for more than five minutes,  he could be on the other side of the island." Chopper(Sanji) explained.

"Well…at least he can take care of himself." Tashigi(Vivi) 

"We should hurry up, the lab must be very close by now."

The north coast of Punk Hazard, five miles north of the main laboratory.

"Oh…I don't remember the sea being close to that lab…how strange."

Zoro looked around. He was on top of a frozen cliff that oversees the coast, to the west, he was able to spot the fiery side of the island.

"And where did those guys go?" He wondered after not seeing Vivi, Sanji, or Kinemon.

"May as well keep going by myself. I'm sure they will be fine."

He was starting to walk west when he spotted something approaching from the sky.

"What's is that? it looks like a person."

As it became close, Zoro was able to make the shape of two people.

One big man with a tall girl standing on top of his back.

"How are they flying?" he wondered for a moment, but then he noticed that the man seemed to have something spinning around his neck.

"There!, there is someone there!" The woman shouted.

The duo landed close to Zoro and stared at him with animosity.

"You there!" The woman pointed at him.

"What do you want?" Zoro answered dryly.

"Are you one of Caesar's men? We are looking for his lab but we weren't told in which part of the island it was located." said the burly man.

"Indeed. So, can you tell which way we should go?" She requested.

"You want me to give you directions?" This was the first time he was ever asked for directions so the swordman was very much surprised.

Laboratory, main entrance.

"Master!, let us take care of these pests?" One of the masked men offered, pointing at the remaining Strawhats.

"Shulololo, very well. Deal with these intruders while I entertain the Vice-admiral." Caesar smiled.

Gion jumped onto the ship, her right arm into a green substance, and shot out to Caesar.

"I won't let you waste more time! I assume that you have already requested for reinforces…is Doflamingo coming in person?" 

Caesar dodged her attack and laughed.

"It seems like my attempt was too obvious. But but no matter...yes, he should be here very soon, and when he does…you will be dead!"

He created a cloud of gas that moved to surround her.

Caesar then pulled something from his sleeve and activated it.

"Gastanet!"

A tremendous explosion occurred, taking everyone by surprise.

"How do you like that?!" Caesar shouted.

When the smoke cleared, they were able to see the shape of the Vice-Admiral. She seemed to be encased inside a build of a green liquid.

"What is that substance?, It looks thicker than water." asked Sanji(Franky).

The liquid was reabsorbed into her boy and Gion looked at Caesar with a satisfied smile.

"I think I am a bad match for you. I ate the 'tea-tea' fruit which can turn my body into a liquid that can resist very high temperatures. Your explosions will not harm me."

"A logia that turns the user into tea?... i have never heard of a fruit that ridiculous." Buggy was baffled.

"That's not a logia. " Caesar was looking at Gion with a displeased expression.

"Logia fruits can only be of naturally occurring elements like fire, ice, light, or even gases. Tea is a manufactured product, so it can only be a paramecia. "

"So, that's how it works?" said Robin.

"Mine is a special type but yes, is a paramecia. "  She said.

"Tsk…disgusting. For me to have to deal with a mere paramecia. " He looked at his men, who were having trouble against the Strawhats.

"Smiley!, Kill those pests already!, I'll end this before he gets here," Caesar growled.

The giant slime had completely reformed and started to attack everyone indiscriminately.

"Ahh!" One of the masked men screamed in pain as his suit was dissolved by the poison.

"Wasn't the Master controlling the monster?" One of them asked.

"Wait!, Don't attack us!, We are on the same side!" they cried.

But the slime continued his rampage.

"Miok gas!" The area around Gion was covered in gas and she was forced to hold her breath.

Caesar then pulled a match and ignited the gas.

She covered herself but the flames did not last long. 

"Karakuni!(airless world)" Caesar exclaimed with a smile.

The flames disappeared, leaving the area completely empty.

When Gion tried to breathe again, she realized what he had done. The fire had consumed all the oxygen in the area, making it impossible for her to breathe.
