Chapter 218: Dual victories

Gion held on to whatever oxygen had left and used her fastest movement to leave the area where Caesar had lit the fire.

"I won't let you escape!" Caesar extended his arms forward and expelled a tremendous amount of toxic gas that started to fill the area.

"She is going to suffocate if she doesn't get away from there" Robin observed from a safe distance.

"Should we help her?" Wondered Brook.

"Are you insane?" Buggy looked at him with a deep frown.

"That's a fucking marine, our enemy!. Let her die. One less Vice-Admiral chasing us!" 

"He does have a point, and we have other problems." Robin pointed at the main doors where they had fought the masked men.

"That creature is looking at us now."

The slimes turned towards the Strawhats and started to advance.

"That thing creeps me out…" Said Robin.

'Geppo!' Gion jumped high in the air and continued ascending until all the gas was out of her reach.

"Buahhh" She was finally able to breathe again.

Caesar could only look in annoyance as she got out of his range of attack.

"You will need to come closer to attack me, and when you do…"

Gion considered her options. She had some long-range techniques but they would not be strong enough to defeat Caesar by themselves and she would not be at a safe range anyway.

'My best bet is to close the gap and finish him quickly.'

With her decision made, she used a series of geppo jumps to move through the air while getting close to Caesar.

"Shololo!, that's right, come over here!"

Caesar created a cloud of toxic gas that moved in between his position and Gion's.

He then pulled out a lighter and placed it in front of his mouth.

"Gastille!"

His mouth turned into a giant plasma lighter and the fire went straight towards Gion, who barely had time to move out of the way, getting her shoulder burned in the process.

She groaned in pain but did not stop her advance while holding her breath.

As soon as her feet touched the ground, she vanished from her position and reappeared next to Caesar.

Her right fist, blackened by haki, connected with Caesar's face, twisting and deforming it by the force of the impact.

He screamed in pain as he was sent backward but she kept close to him, raining blow after blow.

Gion knew that she did not have much time as she was forced to avoid breathing the toxic air, so all the attacks were aimed at vital points.

Caesar was incapable of fighting back against a rokushiki expert who had also mastered the use of armament haki, like the vice-admiral. His only chance had been to defeat her before she got close to him, but that ship had sailed.

His face was twisted and covered in blood now.

"S-stop! " he begged.

But the marine knew better than to listen to his pleas as this man was absolutely ruthless.

With one last powerful punch to the face, Caesar was finally knocked out of commission.

The poisonous cloud disappeared and Gion was able to breathe peacefully.

"What an annoying guy…" She checked him closely to make sure he was alive.

"I'll make sure that this time, you stay locked!".

While Gion was fighting Caesar, the Strawhats were being attacked by a giant slime.

"Ahhh!, Scary!" Brook dodged a blob of slime that landed next to him and started to dissolve the ground.

"What do we do?, Shouldn't we run away from this thing?" Asked Buggy while taking another step back.

"It won't be that easy to get away. And we came here for a reason." Robin looked to one side where the marine and Caesar were fighting. It was hard to tell what was going on there because everything was covered in a cloud of purple smoke.

"Do you have a plan, Miss Robin?" asked Brook.

"Maybe if you give him your panties, the slime will go away. I have read that they are very fond of women's underwear."

"Seriously?!" Buggy exclaimed.

Robin gave him a deadly stare.

"I have a different idea in mind…that man had said before something about the creature not being fond of water."

She looked up, to the higher parts of the lab. Several massive water tanks were resting on the roof.

"Brook, can you cut the support of one of those and make it fall?"

"Yes, that may work too…" The skeleton sounded a bit disappointed that his plan was discarded so quickly.

"Just make it fall and I will direct it to its target. Now we just need someone to distract the creature and lure it closer to that part of the wall." Robin's eyes moved to Buggy.

The clown went a bit paler.

"No!, I will not do it! I will not-"

"Damn you all!" Buggy split in two as the slime tried to catch him.

"Just a bit more! Brook is almost at the roof!" Shouted Robin.

Brook jumped in the air towards one of the massive water containers. They were hoisted in the air by four thick steel bars.

He then placed a hand on his sword.

"Kasuriuta…fubuki giri! (blizzard slash)"

He disappeared in the air and repeated on the roof, behind the water container.

A metallic sound could be heard as two of the support bars were cut down, making the container fall to one side and off the roof.

"Mil fleur…giganto mano "

Two giant arms sprouted off the wall and moved the container so its upper part was pointing down while descending.

Buggy saw this happen and ran to the correct spot, with the slime moving behind him.

He then stopped and smiled at the creature. 

"Ha!, you really think you could get me? You lowly monster, I am the future Emperor!, Buggy the Great!"

The slime grew in size and extended thousands of tentacles toward the clown but before they could reach him…a container of water almost as big as the monster, crashed on its head, opening and releasing a massive amount of water.

The creature shrieked and started to dissolve.
