Chapter 187: Hody’s Threat

“Is he actually planning on killing half the population because they don't agree with him?" Wondered Vivi.

"No, even Hody would not go that far…he will probably offer them a chance of exile," Said Hachi.

"How kind…" Sanji said with sarcasm.

"There will be no more trading around the image of Queen Otohime, these signatures are proof of those who stand against me. The people on this list will have to be disposed of!" Said Hody.

Vivi threw Hachi a look.

"You were saying?..."

"Bastard…" Muttered Jimbei.

"And finally, I will address the Strawhat pirates. Take a good look!"

The image changed to one of a cage, showing Usopp, Brook, and Zoro locked inside.

"Zoro, Usopp, Brook!" Cried Chooper.

"They actually got captured!" Exclaimed Nami.

"I don't doubt you are watching this from somewhere on the island. These are the humans who crushed the noble ambitions of the Arlong Pirates, who fought for the good of our race"

"Noble?..." Nami made a disgusted expression.

"By the time the King's execution has been completed, this room containing the cage will have been filled with water, taking the lives of those inferior humans!" Exclaimed Hody.

'Why is he giving so much time? he is behaving like a cartoon villain…' Vivi thought. But she was mostly disappointed that Zoro had lost against an oponent of this caliber.

'We are going to have some training after this.'

"This is an obvious trap to lure you in and kill you altogether. " Jimbei told the straw hats.

Vivi shrugged "Trap or not, we were going to fight them anyways. I bet our Captain is already…"

"I'm going to kick your ass!" They heard Luffy scream.

"See?" Added Vivi.

They then saw Hody pulling some wanted posters, he pushed Luffy's poster against the screen.

"Strawhat, your head is worth 300 million beli!" 

"Is probably worth more after what happened in Impel Down." Said Sanji.

"Don't remind me that!" Cried Nami.

"The lives of your crew will serve as a perfect example to the human of the surface!" 

"He is still going on?" Vivi looked exasperated.

"Now!, it is time for us to start clearing out the trash of the old Ryuuguu Kingdom. In three hours, this country will be reborn as the new Fishman Island with pride and dignity."

The screen then went black again.

They then went outside to see their Captain.

"He is just picking a fight with us," said Sanji.

"Something that he will come to regret I'm afraid," Vivi said softly.

"If it is a fight he wants, we will give it to him!" exclaimed Luffy.

"Let's not be reckless about this," Said Jimbei.

"Megalo!, we need to go save Father" Cried the princess.

"Princess, I don't think is a good idea for you to go. " started Jimbei.

"Hody is very much afraid of your ability. No matter what kind of Kingdom he builds, it will always be vulnerable to a combined attack from Sea Kings."

"So he wants to kill her? is that what you are saying?" Asked Franky.

Jimbei noded.

"That's why he is cooperating with Vander Dreken. He is the best candidate to eliminate the princess from a distance without triggering her powers"

"What a coward!. I will never let him harm this precious flower!" Shouted Sanji.

Shirahoshi calmed down a bit.

"I have heard all about this power that I'm supposed to possess, but you must understand that I have never spoken with a Sea King in my life…I'm not even sure if I can"

"Have you ever tried?" Asked Vivi and the princess shook her head.

"Powers need to be practiced and mastered. You can't expect to control them otherwise."

"I don't know if I want to…is scary…" 

"Do you not want to be able to protect yourself and your close ones at least?." Asked Vivi.

"Of course!" The princess said with conviction.

Vivi smiled. 

"Then use that feeling and I'm sure that you will succeed. "

"Alright, sharky!  , take me to the palace!" Luffy approached Megalo.

"Wait, Strawhat! You must not do battle with Hody!" Warned Jimbei.

"Is it because we are humans?" Chopper and Franky said together. 

"Don't you two say it! it makes things more confusing!" Exclaimed  Sanji.

"That is correct…"Admitted Jimbei.

"If you and your crew get involved it will only help fuel the bad feelings against humans. Let me be the one who takes care of it"

Luffy's expression turned cold.

"That man has captured my friends…if I do nothing then my friends and everyone else will be in danger. I'm going, if you want to stop me…you can try."

"I had hoped to reason with you…but if you leave me no other choice,  I'll stop you with force" Said Jimbei.

"Are you guys seriously going to fight? We are on the same side " Nami screamed in frustration.

"I'm going to save my friends and beat that Hody's ass!" Shouted Luffy.

"And I'm telling you to wait!" Shouted Jimbei back. 

"Master Jimbei, Luffy!" Cried Shirahoshi.

Buffy turned around and went to the giant shark.

"Shark, let me on. Take me to the palace"

Jimbei did not let this chance go.

"Fishman Karate…samegawara seiken!"

Jimbei seemed to send a punch into the air since there was a good distance between him and Luffy. But the next instant,  Luffy was hit and sent flying back.

Everyone was shocked.

"Why?, a normal punch should have no effect on Luffys rubber body." Said Nami.

Meanwhile, Vivi said nothing. She was carefully observing every move that Jimbei did, recording everything with her perfect memory.

'This fishman karate…may be useful to me' She smiled.
