Chapter 188: The plan

“Jet stomp!" Buffy entered his gear 2 and attacked the shichibukai.

Jimbei blocked the kick with his arms, leaving them bruised.

"Is this all you can do, Strawhat?" 

They ran at each other, prepared to clash again when Robin appeared out of the forest and stood between them.

"Stop this foolishness" She demanded.

"Robin, get out of the way?!" Shouted Luffy.

"Who are you? move!" Demanded Jimbei.

"Robin!" Cried Nami.

"Robin is in trouble!" Sanji hurried to intervene and protect Robin.

But someone got there before.

Vivi moved in front of Luffy and blocked his terrifying punch with both her hands.

Another Vivi appeared in front of Jimbei and did the same.

While a third Vivi remained in the same place she was before.

Robin and Sanji stood in the middle with the chef placed in the front as a means of protection.

"So many beautifully Vivis…I'm in heaven!" Exclaimed Sanji.

"As much as would like to see this fight, Robin is right, this is not the time for this. We should be discussing how to solve the situation " The voice came from the Vivi who remained still in place.

The two others dissolved into shapeless masses of water and flew back to her, combining into her body once more.

Both Jimbei and Luffy started at her, she did not know what they were thinking at the moment but at least they had stopped fighting.

"Why are you coming from the forest, Robin? And why is he with you?" Nami pointed at the clown cowering behind her.

"And where was I supposed to go?!" Shouted Buggy with indignation.

"I was looking for something. I had heard it was somewhere in this forest, and He insisted on tagging along." Answered Robin.

"Robin, Vivi, don't get in the way. I need to beat this guy so I can go save our friends!" Exclaimed Luffy.

"No…they are right. This fight is pointless." Jimbei lowered his hands as a sign of peace.

"I will not stop you, but I would prefer if we could work together "

"Luffy, please. Listen to Master Jimbei! " Begged the princess. 

"Ugg…fine. " Luffy agrees with some reluctance.

"So, how do we do this?" Asked Sanji.

"You have to understand that in our history, humans have always been painted as the bad guys,  and to be fair most of the time…they were. But even in cases like Arlong, the version of the story told here is that Arlong was just hunted down by humans because he was a Fishman and that he committed no crimes while out in the east sea…and there many who believe it."

Jimbei sighed and sat down.

"If you add to that the fact that it was Strawhat the one who took down Arlong…if he does the same with Hody, I'm afraid of what that would do to the mentality of the inhabitants. Even if you defeat him and save the island, some will still tell the story of how Hody stood up to the evil humans and was beaten for it."

"I understand your issue. But we can't stay still while our friends are in danger. " Said Nami.

"I do understand… that's why. Allow me to propose something." Started Jimbei.

"If you are going to do it, don't become some barbarous human who knocked Hody down. You have to become this island's hero!" Proclaimed the Shichibukai.

"A hero?, are you crazy?" Luffy made a horrified expression.

"What? what's wrong with it?, people like heroes"  Said Jimbei.

"We are pirates…I may have respect for heroes but I don't want to become one." Said Luffy with conviction.

"Why not? I know you have saved many lives before. I read about your deeds in Arabasta,  even if the World Government wanted to take the credit." 

"Look, do you even know what heroes do?. For example, if you get some meat, the hero will divide it and share it with everyone, but I want to eat all the meat!" Shouted Luffy.

"That is a weird standard…" Commented Nami.

"Did you become a pirate so you would not have to share food?..." Buggy could not believe what he was hearing.

"I'll give you all the meat you want if you listen to me!" Said Jimbei.

"Oh….okay then" Luffy agreed.

"It's solved? just like that?" Asked Chopper.

Jimbei got closer to Luffy.

"Here is what I thought…first, me and Megalo will get caught on purpose and infiltrate the plaza where the King is going to be executed."

The shark made a frightened expression.

"We will also need someone to retrieve the Celestial Dragon letter that is in their possession, we can't lose that…and we will also need to collect the keys to free the King." 

He looked towards the crew.

Nami rose her hand.

"I am good at ste-...retrieving things. Robin can help me, it will be much easier with her ability."

"Very well." Robin agreed.

Jombei noded.

"Good. Once the King is freed and the letter is secured, I will call for Luffy, who will come out of Megalo's stomach and confront Hody." 

" I see, so this way, everyone will know that we were all working together to save the King instead of some humans independently attacking the fishmen." Concluded Franky.

He looked at Shirahoshi. "The Princess should wait at a safe place outside the plaza, once we save the King and the princes, they can all go together."

"That would leave me, Chopper, Franky, and Vivi to go rescue those idiots," Said Sanji.

"Bring the clown in my place. I will be taking care of someone else instead." Vivi informed them.
