This was my favorite episode so far, and the first one that made me tear up. -THE DETAIL. When the Equalists disguised as window washers went after Tenzin, and he felt the air move, and his quick responses and cyclone move. I actually went "OOOOH!" out loud. -I like how Asami keeps the mech glove handy. I imagine she must feel a bit out of place, the only nonbender and worried about holding onto Mako, and the glove gives her a fighting edge. -Gosh I love Tenzin. He's the only one in the city who can stand up to the Equalists army, though Team Avatar is making a good effort. Did Mako just redirect lightning? "OOOOOH!" -Lin is a BAD ASS. And Tenzin's kids! That was a wonderful family moment. -What a change for Team Avatar, to learn to back down and be patient when Tenzin tells them they have to leave and go into hiding. I like the dynamic of Lin willing to sacrifice herself for Tenzin and his family, and I didn't realize they were still the last airbenders, though that makes sense. My first tears of this series.

Gemineye

Found the male feminist lmao. They both bust each others balls and it is very clearly all in fun. Someone get this guy a fleshlight or something

Unique

it's also the first time Korra has practiced patience, which Tenzin even praised.

Adrian Neagoe

Hes so toxic jesus christ

Good god, here comes the parasocial weirdos that think watching people on a screen for 2-3 hours a week give them any sort of insight into the real life inter-workings of a off screen personal relationship.

Adrian Neagoe

I understand that its just banter and its how they treat each other off camera but on camera its just off putting. Especially from Spartan

Kamau Catching

Are we getting full length for episode 11?

William Abbott

is episode 11 coming tonight?

Yep he needs to stop being a kill joy. I was enjoying the reaction until the very last part. Like it was over the top and I'm like okay we get it Pudgey might have been thinking wrong but geez let her be happy.

Pudgey and Spartans relationship is no one’s business here and obviously Pudgey is very happy with him otherwise she wouldn’t be still with him. However what did annoy me was him cutting her off immediately to tell her it’s not Zuko and it’s the voice actor. I felt like it ruined the initial reaction of meeting General Iroh. Would of rather him wait a couple minuets for the post discussion. Just a bit of constructive criticism overall another great reaction guys!

I agree with this! i was pretty hasty about it and even kicked myself for being so 😅 ya live and ya learn - Spartan

As a person, who is generally worried for what offspring may come of this union, since Spartan seemed so onboard with everything Stannis did, I only worry he might burn some children to appease the fire god. But Spartan and Pudgey seem to love each other, so that part I am not worried about.

Re the power leveling, I think its worth remembering the Equalists, especially Asami's father have been preparing for years, researching out bender weaknesses, probably even specific benders such as Lin and Tenzin, and they choose their attacks on their own terms. Whereas the benders are caught by surprise and off balance. It is a bit odd that Tenzins children were so effective, but they were coming in after Lin had evened the field a fair bit and it was equalist rank and file, not their top fighters. Also, worth noting that no-one has fought Air Benders in over a century, so probably not really aware how to do so.

I agree that power scaling is a bit off, but this is how I understood it: the story takes place in a world where there has been no war for a long time, bending is used in sports competitions and in industry instead of serious life and death battles. The world has become modern and non-benders can use electricity (which so far only firebenders could). Also, chi blocking has become more popular and another weapon in the hands of non benders that changes things in the rankings. Among the characters you've met so far in the first season, many are among the more powerful benders, but it doesn't seem that way because of: Tenzin is the oldest living airbending master – but that means he’s a pacifist, who developed his bending in a more spiritual way than in a combat way. Still, he was able to avoid many attacks from the Equalists' mecha tanks, and even managed to throw one more than ten meters in the air with his airbending. He’s also very nimble and an evasive fighter, avoiding attacks coming from the back, feeling them with the flow of the air. Unfortunately, fighting against so many mecha tanks is difficult without getting electrocuted at one point. One of his biggest strengths is actually the fact that no one knows how to really fight against airbenders, which is the same strength that chi blockers and Equalists with their mech share. Chief Lin Beifong is probably one of the best metalbenders in the universe, but just to be clear, there is no metalbender or earthbender gifted and strong as Toph was in ATLA. One of Lin’s biggest weaknesses is her metal armor and the wires she uses to metal bend, because they conduct electricity, which has already messed her up several times. Note that she’s always attacked with electricity, and never by chi blockers, who instead charge on enemies with no armor on. But she shares her mothers seismic sense, she’s very agile and resilient, and she can do crazy stuff like sense the mechanism of a locked door without actually seeing it in the last episode. Between her and Tenzen I still think Tenzen wins in a fight, just because of his better agility. Mako and Bolin are highly skilled in their pro-bending, but limited with the old school real life bending (as Spartan once noticed in the earlier episode). That is the reason why they are so good in the arena, but not really in the streets. Take note in future episodes how much their bending improves with more experience. Also worth noticing – Mako is one of the best in “bending” lightning – that’s a more common ability in LOK than it was in ATLA because the development of the industry but he is also able to redirect it, which not many knows how to do, and he’s also able to generate it from either hand quickly with little charging time and no arm movement and is also capable of maintaining the bolt for several seconds. WOW! Blood bending is still the most OP ability one can have, so Tarrlok always win in a 1on1. But what about Korra? I think Tarrlok was right when he said to her that she’s a merely a half-baked avatar-in-training. Korra is still one of the strongest character in the story by now, because she’s a master of two elements (water and fire) and a very good earthbender. But this whole show is about Korra’s development, and she will become a beast. Asami is a very very capable martial artist, she trained since she was a small child. She was able to evade attacks from five chi-blockers before using an electrified glove to stun them. But against a bending master such as Tenzen or Lin she has no chance. Against Bolin - I thing right now in the story they are actually on the same combat level. Amon – don’t wanna spoil anything :D Sorry for the wall of text, love you bot S&P and I'm very excited for the next episode!

"stay away from my dad's ex girlfriend" is such a funny line 🤣

Pudgey saw a scarless 20 Yr old and was like omg it's Zuko 😂

Guys it's not United Nations. General Iroh II is head of the United Forces, which is the military for United Republic of Nations - the ex fire nation colonies made into its own country, which Republic City is the Capital of.

Dw Spartan, Tenzin will get a chance to really show how bad ass, strong and powerful he is. But it will require a bit of wait. Arguably, the best episode of this entire show imo

bro delete this

Gemineye

Yeah I agree, I think Spartan makes good points about Tenzin getting whipped every fight, but to me it makes sense that Mako and Bolin are stronger. Bending, while like magic, is also very much physical like a martial art. It makes sense that 2 young 20 year olds in their physical prime of their life would be faring better in fights than an older man who's settled down with a family. I think spartan needs to put more respect on Mako and Bolins names.

I know it was well intended, but please remove this comment, we don't want to hint at stuff like this, especially regarding the timing. Your other comments have been perfectly fine and we are happy to have you here and participating in the discussion. =)

??? Delete this immediately or we will do it for you. Do not post anything like this again or further action will be taken. Please read the spoiler posting rules we post on each video comment section.

Tenzin goes down easily like Aang, Probably because airbenders work on avoiding attacks and not taking them

I tried to toe the line (not state when and where) but OK will remove :)

I just want to underline that both S & P are great, and some of the comment and allegations towards something not the actual episode is weird af, a massive over reaction.

@Spartan You got smacked with a lot from the comments on this one. I was just chuckling like "Bro calm down she hasn't even said anything". I figure you probably got super excited when you heard the voice, thought about it right away, and then had to blurt it out.

Jonathanese

I kinda agree with the power scaling regarding unique abilities just kinda being everywhere. Though I suppose keep in mind the population density here compared to what we are used to. So even if 0.1% of fire benders could bend lightning, if it's a population of 1,000,000, that's still 1000 lightning benders. I also figure perhaps lightning bending was relatively new in ATLA. I also kinda agree with Spartan wanting to see Tenzin just let loose. Like it seeming like he gets his butt kicked a lot. But you generally don't see him fighting unless it's in a situation where he is most at risk of buttkickage in the first place. But personally Tenzin never took me as being purely "air". I've said before, I feel like as much as any of the other kids, he took a lot after his mom in personality.
