The resemblance of the actress to Angelina Jolie is quite ridiculous. First time I watched, I had to double check the credits to make sure. To my eyes, they could be twins. Kid Theo also somehow exudes the coolness (in every meaning of the word) of her adult self. How amazing is that.

I think the bug in the dead cat was real and the bug from Nell’s body was just her imagining things, something she is “haunted” by. Like when you experience something shocking or traumatic sometimes you just see it or imagine it happening again

Regarding the discussion at the end of the video - a lot of horror is a metaphor for real life issues - trauma, mental illness, abuse, substance abuse, depression, suicide, death, grief, etc. but just turned up to 11 or amplified with supernatural elements. I think Pudgey’s right, that’s why a lot of people enjoyed this show, because the horror draws from grounded emotional situations and isn’t just cheap over the top jump scares

My take a well. I love that bit. Bug crawling out of a dead kitten - making it seem briefly that she is alive or undead is the kind of perfectly rational yet immensely creepy shit that will traumatize any child in their moment of grief. What adult Shirley saw was merely that trauma manifesting.

Just to be clear Spartan, Shirley is no way "cutting corners", when it comes to her business. Her husband said over 50% of funerals she does are basically charity, so they're not making enough money. This is the complete opposite. She's not paying attention to their budget and doing most funerals at a reduced cost, meaning the families are paying less than what they should have so shirley and her husband are eating the cost. Cutting corners would mean she's purchasing cheaper supplies or not buying necessary supplies due to their cost in order to save money.
