Apes 1 was directed by Rupert Wyatt. Has never won an award for anything. JP was directed by who? Ah right, STEVEN SPIELBERG.

Apes ngl. I get that almost all the other franchises had 1 or 2 movies that are pretty much perfect (alien, aliens, T2, JP1, IJ3 BttF2) but all of them have at least one that is trash maybe even two. Whereas Planet of the Apes i think is the only one that is pretty solid all the way, not perfect but it doesn't have one movie that is straight up bad.

Nah, they are solid. Well directed and acted action movies. Also they are pretty epic and modern so I think spartan will like them. Do you really want to watch Jurassic Park 2 and 3? Come on

the first Jurassic Park is a must see but not the other 2 of that trilogy. And then Jurassic World is excellent but not the subsequent 2 of that trilogy. Apes is much better overall IMO. I voted Apes. Looks like it's going to lose at this point lol

Agreed. IMO, reactions to the 2nd and 3rd of the first trilogy is not worth it. We don't get that many movies as it is (once a week at most - which is what I'm mostly here for). I think the 1st Jurassic Park and then the 1st Jurassic World would be cool. Those 2 are the best movies in the entire Jurassic Park/World franchise. The newer Apes series is definitely better overall IMO.

1 is really good character work, Ceasar is an amazing character. And then the sequels are action movies yes but I don't think they are boring at all. They were directed by Matt Reeves who did The Batman and for what I've heard, they liked that movie. The action and the vfx are pretty good which are basically the reason someone would watch the jurassic park movies lol except the sequels are way better than the JP sequels

@ashleep not even close to meh movies. They are very well directed and they know what they are: action movies. They have one job and they do it well. I think they are very solid overall

I tried to get JW1 slotted in instead of JW3 but what can ya do. I guess we will see how S&P feel about 2 & 3 when the time comes. JW1 can always get added as a solo movie later, I agree JW 2 and 3 aren't worth it.

@SuddenImpulse I agree. IMO, what they should really do for this "movie series" if Jurassic wins, is to just to Jurassic Park 1, then Jurassic World 1. The rest of the movies in the franchise are just not worth reaction videos to IMO, especially for a young channel that has barely scratched the surface of movies to react to, on top of being a channel focusing on series over movies to begin with.

How were Terminator and Alien beaten out by these movies, absolute classics and incredible movies. First Jurassic Park is amazing but PoTA is just modern or younger viewers haven't seen the other pics is my feel.

with how divided the community is over apes and JP i feel like everyone would of been better off if Back to the Future won. All 3 of those movies are fun to watch and IMO dont have a dip in story telling like JP and how some people feel about the later apes movies. .

As much as the 2nd and 3rd Jurassic can be divisive it would be great to get the guys’ views on them, the ethical and moral questions that are raised sounds like a classic S&P discussion. It’s a trilogy that if they never experienced as kids should definitely watch now.

The truth is that Jurassic Park 2 is average and Jurassic Park 3 is kind of ass... But that is the sacrifice we must make to push back the tide of mediocrity that is these Ape films...

Sadly a good movie series has lost to a good movie followed by a trash movie series. I checked the imdb scores for these, here they are in ranked order. JP1 : 8.2 PotA 1 : 7.6 PotA 2 : 7.6 PotA 3 : 7.4 PotA 4 : 6.9 JP2 : 6.6 JP3 : 5.9 So as you can see, PotA is a much stronger series of films overall and the JP series are just hype for the first one. Rip, we are gonna have to wait two weeks because of this.

For you, you will have to wait 2 weeks if JP wins because you like 1 of 3. Some people like 2 of the 3, some people like 3 of the 3. Some people like just 1 or 2 of the Apes films, some like all of them. Some like none of them, which means those people have to wait for 4 weeks. There are multiple comments not far below this one of people saying they are happy 2 and/or 3 are being watched. There are multiple comments lamenting JP, and multiple lamenting PotA, and some lamenting watching beyond PotA1 or JP1. This is not a complex concept to understand. This is why we have polls. Theres been a number of weeks where I had zero interest in the movie or movies that won. Other people were feeling the same way when I've had mine win. Just gotta deal and move forward. If you want to suggest which movies are in certain movie series sets, no one is stopping you or anyone from doing that, and that feedback is collected.

When people constantly present their personal subjective opinion as if its objective fact, you know thats a person you should not listen to. The reality is some people really like JP 2 and 3, some people don't like PoTA or only like the first one or two. Some people wanted just JP1 and JW1, some wanted JP1, JP2 and JW, some people wanted JP1-3 and JW1 as a standalone on another poll. Its complicated. S&P look at a LOT of variables when deciding which movies to put in a movie series. They look at how the reactions for each movie perform on youtube, they look at community demand, they sometimes get input from the mod team, they look at other things, and ultimately they decide what THEY think they would like to watch or how they want to set it up.

Very true, it just seems like most people agree that JP only has 1 good movie out of 3 which also includes the JW reboot series. I can't say anything about Apes bc I only saw the first 2 so I'm just going off what I see in the comments about people not being a fan of them either. So, it's quite the conundrum lol

The discord did get a bit bad for awhile but things have gotten cleaned up there. As far as here on patreon, its a bit hard to maintain since Patreon doesn't have mod tools. Best we can do is ask people to be nice, and we usually get one of 3 results depending on the person: 1. they follow through 2. They ignore it 3. They yell at me and say im trying to censor them and their free speech

Agreed, for the most part, but the new Planet of the Apes are all great. Only the first Jurassic Park is on their level. The Lost World and III are bad, in comparison.
