What is a HAPA? A Hapa is a half Asian, half something else. I got invited out of the blue to do a livestream with a HAPA couple, their channel name made me take a step back "Hapa Supremacy" but after taking a look it turns out that although rather immature, it's tongue in cheek and they cover all sorts of hapa related nonsense as well as some comedy skits all with a more conservative lean.

Either way, I was more than happy to oblige and we had a long hour and a half chat. Although a lot of you may be familiar with what I do and know the answers to some of the questions, I think that they did ask me some pretty good questions during this live stream and I got to talk a little bit about China's Social Credit system, South Africa and China in general.

Another great discussion. However I do want to point out a few things. Qipao isn't only worn by prostitutes and waitresses. The higher end ones are also worn at weddings. Secondly Manchurians are gone per se, many had to hide their identities after China became a republic. Recently there's been a small revival. I know this because I'm half Manchurian. You are right however, they're gone in a sense that the modern Chinese culture is a product of combining the Manchurian and traditional Han Chinese culture. And I am very happy that people of different ethnic backgrounds wear the Qipao.
