Hey guys! Here are the tabs, backing track, and MIDI file for my metal cover of the absolutely epic DANCING MAD from Final Fantasy VI.

Rhythm Guitars:

Style - Heavy palm muting, very proggy time signatures

Difficulty - 4/5

Our rhythms here start off the first half of the song with some very straight forward and fun riffs. It's all about being super heavy and reinforcing the epic lead guitars for the most of this arrangement. However, after the orchestral break, things pick up SUPER quickly and we end up with some absolutely insane riffs.

The odd time signature section is all about sliding your fretting hand up and down the fret board and nailing the tightness on the right hand as well. Luckily it's all the same shape just moving up and down the fret board so there's not much to remember once you get the shape down.

Besides that, we're playing a major reinforcing role to the lead guitars here with some heavy riffage throughout!

Leads:

Style - crazy Uematsu intervals, shred

Difficulty - 5/5

Our leads here are, for the most part, quite challenging! We do have some slower melodic passages throughout this beast of an arrangement but most of it is definitely some really unique and fun shreddy licks.

We begin with some fat open chords and then go into a nice melodic break before our first main riff in Section B.

Section B features some brooding octaves and then it quickly erupts into a fast shreddy lick reinforcing the rhythm guitars.

We then fast forward into the C# minor section with the choir where we're playing some easy parts here that are all about sounding super evil and dark.

Now let's fast forward to our insane time signature section after the orchestral break and just like the rhythms, we have some absolutely insane parts here to nail. It's all harmonized up until the heavy C minor version of this riff where we're playing a very Chrono Trigger-esque melody that will absolutely destroy your hand. Take this section slow!

Lastly we have our ending section with is very melodic and gives us an epic huge way to end the arrangement!

If you have any questions about any of these riffs or licks, let me know in a message on here or a DM in my discord.

Enjoy and rock on!

~ Jack
