So they had an episode in the original series where Logan ran into Cap in WW2, so it wasn't a complete out of left field thing. Also, I BELEIVE they have the rights to all the Fox animated cartoons form the 90's and their characters. So they get the FF and their crew, Iron man and his crew, The Hulk and MAYBE the crew from that AWFUL 90's Avengers cartoon, but GOD I hope not. (They all have an armoring up sequence. But at least they do interesting stuff with Hank Pym realizing is sucks being the 5th smartest man ever. But he DOES solo the Zodiac) As for Rogue and Cap, you're right. pop on that Nomad costume and get s*** done. Anytime there's a crossover with the Avengers, Cap always says how the Avengers never do enough for mutants. Now, it being a comic, they can't because what would the X-Men do in their stories if Thor is running around bopping Mystique on the head but still. Like, the Avengers never wonder why the X-Men don't help them out more cause they got their own stuff to deal with, but it makes the times they do involve eachother a bit tense. (And not for nothing, Cap has been disillusioned by a lot less a lot more often but the mutants have had, at current count, 4-5 genocides and he didn't have a cry over any of those and trade in for a different (and usually AWFUL) outfit.) And yeah, that's Bastion. They explain his origin on the show either next episode or the one after (And do a better job than the comics). So unless you wanna dig out the Cable and Machine Man Annuals from 98 or 99, the show's got you.

The others from Remy's funeral where from the Guilds in New Orleans: the Thieves' Guild and the Assassin's Guild. I think one was his adopted father, Jean-Luc LeBeau, and another was his ex-wife, Bella Donna Boudreaux. They feature in some of the Gambit-focused comics and in the original series.

Nightcrawler has always been my favorite X-Man and hot damn does this show do right by him. Many adaptation seem to lean into one aspect of his personality, but this show captures them all. We see his religiosity , his insightfulness and his fun-loving swashbuckler attitude. Amazing writing.
